Man Utd 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

They will look different when Rashford goes back out wide and their new forward is fit.

Certainly need to work on the midfield though, gaps all over the shop

Don't think they'll be alone in having a wide open midfield this season.

Chelsea and Liverpool looked very open and Spurs like to operate with gaps too. It means if they win the ball they can flood forward quickly. Not so great defensively.

This is the thing that really separates Pep from the rest, IMO. I don't know how he does it, but City rarely feel short of defenders no matter how many bodies they throw forward. It's pretty nuts.

Horrific soundtrack is putting it lightly.
Not one you want to be playing if you are in the office!

Clear fave on that clip is the one where he sets up the chance for Silva. Superb challenge and simply refuses to give up

Those highlights reminded me of N'Golo Kante, actually.

I mean, we all said the same about Neves, but I'd be surprised if we kept him beyond this year.

Urgh he’s gonna go to Liverpool isn’t he? Or join Chelsea’s defensive midfield army they’re building.

Not in the next couple of weeks, but if he continues like this we'll be beating back clubs with a stick come January.

Yeah I meant next year really tbf but they are desperate for a player like him right now

The comms team last night did my head in

Usually like Goodman but he was spouting some odd stuff last night such as saying, after another round of top defensive work by Semedo that he was shocked as he isn't known for his defensive abilities but more for his attacking contributions

It took the main guy, Seb Hutchinson, nearly 75 mins before he twigged we were playing well. Before that he was right on the edge of Clive levels of patronising that a plucky little club haven't bent over for the opposition.

No point even getting worked up about it. He's so good that he'll outgrow us quickly and be off to the likes of Man City or Real to win Champions Leagues.

On the plus side, I'd imagine we get near 150m for him based on Caicedo who's nowhere near as good, going for 100m plus.

My favourite was with 10 mins to go and Onana had the ball. Seb said "if it carries on like this, United will win"

Cheers pal.

It felt like Goodman was trying really hard not to show any Wolves bias, particularly in the first half.

Oh and did anyone else notice that in the pre game line up photos they had Cunha as Nunes's picture!

With Gomes' performance yesterday and Nunes, it does make you wonder where Lopetegui perceived Scott to play unless it was very much £25m for an option.

One thing I will say is that with Gomes, Nunes (one year on), Cunha, Silva, Neto, Sasa, heck even Hwang: there are goals in this team more so than last year.
