Anyone who's played even at Sunday league level will know that confidence can have a huge effect on your performance. Personally always played better when I did things naturally and it seems that Fabio is playing with that kind of freedom now. Invaluable, regardless of opposition quality..

The "oh but look at the level of his opponent" comments are a bit shit, tbf.

He's been sent out to play, regardless of opposition and goals/assists will do him the world of good. He's showing that there's a player there & Anderlecht seem to be playing some nice stuff, too. It's a great start for him. Hopefully he bangs in 30 goals this season and comes back with all the confidence in the world so we can benefit.

Not that anyone said that, in that context, but of course the level of opposition needs to be factored in. The team 4th in the Estonian league is Northern Premier standard, Conference North at absolute best. Doesn't stop goals being good for his confidence.

Wasn't necessarily on about this forum; as I've seen lots of comments referring to the level of opponent elsewhere - but you literally referred to them as a "pub team" yesterday.

They were a pub level team. Nothing wrong with stating that.

Equally nothing wrong with lauding Silva's goals although goals against better option are the yardstick he will be judged on, which is right.

Midweek Update

As discussed, Fabio had a productive half-hour cameo in Anderlecht’s 3-0 win in the Conference League qualifiers, notching a goal and an assist.

Corbeanu played an hour for Blackpool as they went out on penalties at home to Barrow in the League Cup. Cut inside from the right and stung the palms of the keeper with a shot early on, then blasted another over in the second half.

Nigel Lonwijk was voted Plymouth’s MOTM by fans in his first 90 minutes in a long time as his team lost 2-0 at home to Posh, while Lewis Richards played a full game in a 1-0 defeat at home to Stockport.

Bolla got another full game and Kawabe 83 minutes in a 1-1 league draw at Luzern as Grasshoppers extended their opening unbeaten run to four games (strong start for Dadashov by the way, that’s two goals and an assist now).


Unused subs: Hoever, Perry (good job, they lost 7-0 at home).
Not in squad: Sanderson, Giles, Sang-bin (injured).
