Loan Watch 2022/2023

RCB – YERSON MOSQUERA – 5

The young Columbian center back has been excellent so far this season, but he’ll want to forget this frigid match. Besides needlessly giving up the penalty, he was also late to challenges all night, racking up a team-high 4 fouls conceded. He also only won 3 of his 7 ground duels. He was successful on both of his attempted tackles (2) and added a block and 3 interceptions.

He wasn’t great on the ball either, completing just 64.3% of his passes, with only 2 of them being progressive. He did, however, add a key pass. His night was up and down overall, and he might have scored higher had he not been solely responsible for giving away the penalty kick that allowed the Fire to take the lead in the first half.

Spelled it "Columbia", must be a Brit. ;)

How can you win '3/7 ground duels' but win 'both attempted tackles'?

A duel is an 50-50 contest between two players of opposing sides in the match. For every Duel Won there is a corresponding Duel Lost depending on the outcome of the contest.

A tackle is defined as a play in which a player connects with the ball in a ground challenge, successfully taking the ball away from the man in possession.

Possession of the ball being firmly with the tackled player seems to be the differentiator. 🤷‍♂️

As Jonny said, a load of nonsense!

Sounds like a complete and utter load of bollocks to just get stats lovers drooling. Fire it into the sun.

Alright then, no more updates from the FCC fan site…

A first update in a few weeks, have been super busy unfortunately.

From the past weekend:

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)
Played the full game in a 4-0 taking-apart of Preston and notched up two more assist, to send him four clear at the top of the league assist chart with 12 for the season.

Luke Cundle - Swansea City (Championship)

Played 72 minutes in a 2-0 win at home to Bristol City.

Ki-Jana Hoever - Stoke City (Championship)

Played 76 minutes of a goalless draw at home to Norwich. Half-volleyed a great cross over at one point which Stoke nearly scored from but for a great block from the keeper.

Chem Campbell - Wycombe Wanderers (League 1)

Played 80 minutes of a 1-0 defeat at home to Barnsley and missed a sitter in the first half.

Fabio Silva - PSV (Eredivisie)

Played a full game in a 1-1 draw at Vitesse but had a frustrating afternoon with just the one header he put wide.

Jordao - Santa Clara (Portuguese Primeira Liga)

Played 84 minutes of a 2-0 defeat at home to Rio Ave.

Hayao Kawabe and Bendeguz Bolla´- Grasshoppers Zurich (Swiss Super League)

Both played a full game in a valuable 2-1 win at Sion.

Yerson Mosquera - FC Cincinnati (MLS)

Played the full game in a 3-3 draw at Chicago Fire

Joe Young - AFC Telford, National League North

Played in a 3-2 defeat vs Curzon Ashton

On as sub: Perry came on for the second half of Cheltenham’s 3-1 win vs Exeter

Unused subs: Corbeanu, Smith

Not in squad: Sanderson, Lonwijk, Guedes

Hard to ignore Giles' stats at this point.

Silva has given an interview saying that he wants to stay at PSV next season.

Then they can make a bid to buy him. Fuck loaning him out again.
