Loan Watch 2022/2023

I gotta watch Eredivisie more often if this is anything to go by. Such an open game.

Fabio off on 77’. Missed a good chance and fouled a defender in the box very needlessly after his goal. Looks a weird fit at LW.

Seems to have a good connection with the PSV supporters, though.

He's running at a goal every 2 games with an assist every 6.

That's OK, not great but OK.

Edit: that's all games this season not just PSV.

Think he’s only played about 180 minutes and has 3 goals for them so a good start for him

We would but the Dutch and Belgian league aren't the same quality as the PL

They aren't and I don't think anyone is gonna claim he's the next Alan Shearer but his all round game is lightyears from what we saw in a wolves shirt. He's strong, quick and a threat in the air now. He's the best centre forward on our books currently.

I would say Sasa is a long way better in terms of current ability. But obviously he's broken and we don't know how well he'll come back.

I can't really gauge Sasa, I've seen him play maybe 4/5 times and every one of them he's looked really clumsy.

Update from the weekend:

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)

Played the full game at A*bion but was a bad day at the office for Boro as they lost 2-0. Both times Dike slipped between Giles and the CH. Giles put in a few teasing crosses but to no avail.

Matija Sarkic - Stoke City (Championship)

Played in a 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall. Beaten by a decent strike.

Nigel Lonwijk - Plymouth Argyle (League One)

Played a full game of a bad 5-2 defeat at Peterborough. Not really at fault for any of the goals though.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham Town (League One)

Another thumping. Played 83 minutes in 4-0 loss at Pompey. That's them two points off the relegation zone now.

Fabio Silva - PSV (Eredivisie)

A start and a goal as he plays 73 minutes of a 3-1 win. Goal posted above, and forced a good save out the keeper as well later on.

Goncalo Guedes - Benfica (Primeira Liga)

Played an hour of a 2-0 win at Vizela. No contribution to the goals.

Bendeguz Bolla - Grasshoppers Zurich (Swiss Super League)

Played the full game as GHZ slipped to another defeat, this time 1-0 at Luzern

Yerson Mosquera - FC Cincinnati (MLS)

Made his debut, playing 73 minutes of a 2-1 win at home to Houston Dynamo. Looked like he played on the left of a back three. Misjudged the flight of the ball for the goal, allowing his opponent to get in front of him. It was his fine ball forward though that led to the winner. I'm sure Alan could tell us more :D

Joe Young - AFC Telford, National League North

Played in a 1-0 defeat at home to Blyth.

On as sub: Cundle came on for the last 10 minutes of a 1-1 draw with Rotherham, while Corbeanu came on for second half stoppage time for Bielefield.

Unused subs: Smith, Jordao
Not in squad: Sanderson, Hoever, Sang-Bin, Kawabe

Hoever played a full game at LB for Stoke in their 1-0 cup defeat to Brighton last night. Taylor Perry played 70 minutes of a 2-0 loss at Derby.

Was he injured at the weekend or is there an element of truth in the claim that they rotate the loanees each week?

Pretty much spot on that they are rotating when all of the loan players are fit. 2 need to be left out I think

Hoever, in League Games has gone pretty much like this - sub, starting 11, no place, sub, starting 11, no place.

Sarkic couldn't play last night as he played for us at Anfield so that freed up one spot.

Coady has been dropped by Dyche for their game against Arsenal tonight. Keane plays instead.

Outside of injury that'll be it for him unless they go 3 at the back at some point, but if they aren't away at top of the league then it looks likely he doesn't ever plan to
