Loan Watch 2022/2023

His play for the offside goal is excellent too

It was, good run and pull back was spot on. Shame he hadn’t curved his run enough.
Yeah I meant to say, apart from the offside bit haha!

Think Ruud will regret not giving Fabio more game time over the 2 legs after the last half hour tonight. Played off the left but everything we haven’t had from a striker this season, ran channels, held it up, won headers, linked play and then bagged a goal. Unfortunately not enough because of a mad 10 minutes in the first leg. Hopefully that 30 minutes gets him in the team from the start now.
Good to hear, didn't see tonight's game but I was encouraged enough by the bits I saw of Anderlecht's games in Europe.

He won't ever be worth what we paid but that's irrelevant to a point now. It's just about finding a player in there.

Encouraging to see Fabio getting game time and scoring . He's physically a much stronger player now as well and puts himself about . Will be interesting to see what happens come the end of the season .

It's clearly extremely hard to find a top class striker that will come to Wolves and then actually scores a decent number of goals . We are going to have to replace Costa and Raul at the end of this season - maybe the answer is already on our books .

I wouldn't be writing a strategy around Sasa or Fabio next season. One is a permacroc and the other hasn't been trusted by any of his last 3 managers.

I also wouldn’t be dropping another 40m on a non scoring forward though. May as well find out if those two can do the job with a bit more creativity and intent behind them than we’ve had for a while

Exactly this.

I think Sasa will play, we just got unlucky with him to start.

If Silva is any good he'll prove himself to Lopetegui. JL doesn't seem to take prisoners and dickheads seen to be shipped out fairly quick. Up to Silva what he wants to do with his attitude.

His contribution in the buildup stands out more than the header.

Good strength from the guy who played the ball into him, as well.

It's the type of header that'd come off his back and go 5 yards over the bar when he first started playing for us so good to see some improvement in that regard. He's always made space for himself inside the area, if he can finish chances like that regularly that's the main thing.

For sure, meant more to compliment the quality holdup than demean the finish.

Oof, Silva has to hit that chance first time. Tried to be unselfish and Simons couldn’t control the layoff.

And PSV immediately punished! Wild couple of minutes in Eindhoven.

EDIT: Fab is lined up at left wing which really doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
