Liverpool (A) 29/12 Build-Up & Match Thread

It's done. It's dusted. We played well, and decisions went against us. I see no further point in getting bent out of shape about it. We need to store that annoyance and use it as influence on 23 January.

Jonny was indeed fantastic.

So Taylor told Coady it was too far back in the move to look at the Van Dijk handball. Have I made up the disallowed goal at Old Trafford where they went back to that foul on Origi?

Not upset by today's result - Leicester (who are second) lost 4 - 0, we have gone there & lost 1 - 0 & could well have got something from that with a side that had to leave a few of our normal starters out due to the schedule we are on.

We play them at home on the 23rd so just do them over then

waiting for the extended highlights, missed the game unfortunately. neto's disallowed goal seems rather unfair though.

didn't realize someone was keeping track of a "var table" :icon_lol:

Errrr....

There is no fucking chance we are in a positive so I am calling that table utter fucking bollocks.

Think Taylor was chatting shit as he had no clue. If it is a handball, it is still classed as being in the phase as Liverpool didnt lose possession, so no new phase was started. Reality is, VAR didnt check it at all. You could see from the on screen stuff they looked 4 or 5 times at the handball then 2 looks at Mane being onside.

Still say Taylor blew his whistle before Mane touched the ball anyway.

It's in his mouth, no way of knowing when he blew, but...

Listening on the telly the whistle went after the goal was scored, the referee delayed to allow for VAR

If he blew after the goal then fair enough. It wasn't handball and I'm not convinced enough by VVD's 'handball' in the build up. It's our disallowed goal I'm fuming about.

I don’t know how many times it needs saying but if you introduce a 15cm refs call line this all stops with regard to offsides. I thought Mane scored before the ref blew tbf. We are all losing interest in the game we love because some cunt wants to make a science out of it. VARological studies or similar shit.

I think it shows we would have 4 more points and 3 better places if var were not in place. I may be wrong. If so it shows we are the most affected team by the slide rule interpretation of what should have been a bit of kit to stop controversy

Looking at it a number of times really don't have a problem with their goal - our one denied however is a joke.

You can say that you are either offside or not, but by millimetres when the systems they are using cannot calculate it that accurately?

The whistle definitely sounded once it hit the net.
