Liverpool 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Guedes may as well have not played. Totally anonymous, we were better second half as the Liverpool CBs had to put the deck chairs away and do something.
I thought Cunha was a lot more creative second half and provided some decent through balls that Munetsi wasn`t capable of finishing off.

I actually didn’t realise before watching that today how many dislikable players Liverpool have got 😂

Diaz, McAllister, VVD, Robertson - all absolute bellends. You play for one of the biggest & best football clubs in the world - you don’t need to use the ‘dark arts’ to win.

Atmosphere sounded very flat & have a feeling Slot might be in for a rough time next season. It’s ok at the moment cos they’re winning games & will likely win the league, but they’re not as easy on the eye that’s for sure.

Hooper can make himself feel better by saying we had the majority of the decisions in the second half, but the damage was already done by then. He had an absolute shocker. As far as we go, we just can’t expect to rock up to Anfield & play 11 players PLUS a referee and come away with anything. At least we gave it a go.

Cunha the stand out.
Sa, Semedo, Guedes, Sarabia, Toti all shocking.

Should probably have got a draw there, Liverpool were shit. It’s a pity that, apart from Cunha, our attacking options are a bit of a joke.

If only we’d had a proper manager for the whole season. We’d be nowhere near this mess we’re in.
I think our attacking options were highlighted by the back passing and passing along the back so much in the last 5 or 10 minutes when we should have been putting them on the back foot.

Overall, pretty happy with that.

So much went against us, namely that bald cunt in the middle (and I can call him that, as a bald cunt myself).
You're more Anthony Taylor than Hooper, every time I see Taylor...

6 minutes injury time and Hooper indicates he is adding time on for their time wasting but blows on 6 mins 29 secs, fuck off.

Fine performance for us really and at half time I was fearing a battering for our goal difference so to only hit it by 1 and unlucky not to draw (we should have), shame all those golden opportunities fell to Munetsi.

Jota was a cunt for that disgraceful dive and should have been booked.

Hope Agba not seriously injured, superb goal for Cunha and an encouraging display against one of the best sides in the world.

I’m gutted we’ve lost that, feels like a missed opportunity. Damage is done by Sa not reading the situation and being wise to the situation and how Hooper was reffing the game.
Performance wise we were the better side overall I think.
JRB again showing signs there’s a player in him and really provides much needed energy.
Often the tale of the tape from our trips to Anfield, good effort, should’ve got something, ref was weak but we got nothing.
Reality is the only bonus is the GD hasn’t been battered today and it’s another tough game out the way.
Whilst you’d like to think this performance will be transferred to Saturday you all know football is never that linear.

Guedes may as well have not played. Totally anonymous, we were better second half as the Liverpool CBs had to put the deck chairs away and do something.
If anyone ever asks you if you've ever seen a ghost, you can now say yes after watching that 45 minutes from Guedes. Contributed absolutely zero.

Liverpool don't have to carry players like Sa, Sarabia, Guedes, etc. We do. Ultimately that, plus subconsciously (?) biased officiating, is the difference. Plus ça change.

Forgot he was on the pitch. And Sarabia.
Sarabia at least had a couple of shots. Not good ones by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't think Guedes had 10 touches and it wasn't a half where we were permanently penned in our own half and not able to offer anything to the forward players.

I'm not concerned about Munetsi after 2 sub appearances. The good thing is his positional play is excellent - he makes such good, intelligent runs. I'd be more concerned if he wasn't affecting the forward play but he's definitely doing that.

Overall, I thought it was a very promising display against 12 men. The ref was a disgrace in that first half but fair play to us for our attitude in the 2nd half. Too often recently we've seen a Wolves side feel sorry for themselves and discipline goes out of the window but not today. Deserved something over 90 minutes.
