Live Match Discussion 2025/26

I think with offsides there should be a wider margin of error. Basically wider lines. Linesman's (umpires) call or similar. This nonsense of of drawing and redrawing lines to see if someone's elbow is in front of someone's foot is ridiculous
Bin off drawing the lines. Watch a couple of angles and eyeball it. Won't take more than a minute. If it's clearly off, give it. It's all they do for the rugby.

Lovely brace for my boy Tonali!
The kind of thing that makes me seethe when conceding on Football Manager though.

Middle of February, smashed in from miles out - "and that's his 1st of the season!"

Of course it fucking is, you stupid game.

Salah has been crap (again).
Kerkez really good.
That's my take on it so far.
Oh, and Chiesa is a tart.

Interesting article on the beeb (well sort of) trying to carry the argument that Villa v Newcastle is an advert for the need for VAR.

I respectfully disagree. That game is an advert for the fact that the officials in the Premier League are utterly and completely fucking incompetent. I have now reached the point that I don't actually care if VAR exists or not. But the whole process falls down on "we don't want to re-referee the game" and "clear and obvious" when the decisions are so utterly appalling from every single one of these useless cunts. If you want to improve the game fire every single one of the current crop of officials and their PGMOL overlords into the sun and start again. Preferably using people with eyes.

It's an advert for what we were told VAR was for when it was first introduced, that's not what we got though. For every clear and obvious there's 10 subjective or marginal. City's 3rd disallowed goal last week is a good example, by the strict rules of the game it's the correct decision. I guarantee 10 years ago though the goal would have been given and nobody would have mentioned it apart from to say that Szoboszlai would have been sent off if Haaland went over
