Live Match Discussion 2024/25

There's the bullshit inconsistency that Alan was mentioning around the Hwang free kick yesterday. Bergvall barges the Tamworth attacker in the back and nothing is given.

Meanwhile Son kicks the ball away before getting blocked and it's a free kick. Which was less of one than the previous one.

knew the final 2 mins in added time was their chance. Unlucky not to have took that opportunity, Spurs have been fucking awful though.

But you only get it through luck, you can't plan for it
Does that mean you should take that chance away from clubs though, just to benefit the big clubs?

I'm sure the Tamworth players would have loved a once in a lifetime opportunity to play a competitive game at a place like Spurs Stadium.

You shoehorn the replay in wherever, and force the top European clubs to use their massively expensive squads and academy.

Go on then. Where is it going if Spurs are playing every single midweek before the fourth round.

Incidentally Tottenham have a midweek game (1 x PL, 2 x Europa League, 1 x League Cup) for the next 4 weeks. So where is a replay supposed to go
The schedule is different so it would be this week as there wouldn't be PL games and the first games would have been last weekend as usual

Fuck em, the big clubs wave through these extra European fixtures because of the money, well here's the consequence. If you can't beat a non league side in 90 minutes then it looks like you're playing sat/mon/thurs and it's your own fault.

So a push for more revenue at the summit has done the smaller clubs out of potential revenues?

Who'd have thought it?

Straight to penalties? Think that's a good idea, helps with players not picking up injuries and the bigger teams having more on the bench.
It’s worked pretty well here in MLS. So many ET periods turn out to be damp squibs anyway; saves 30 minutes on the players’ legs and of course the drama of a shootout is still top notch.

Just had a look. They play Sun/Thu twice in the next few weeks. It'd have to go on one of the Tuesdays between those.

And if that means they can't play their top players due to injury concerns then tough shit it's their own fault. They can use their massive squad and U21s.

They should have played a stronger team in the original tie and not risked a replay in the first place.

It’s the players who pay for it with the replay though, certainly more than the dipshit capitalists grubbing together as many pennies as they can.

I know I’d be absolutely furious if I was a player and picked up some sort of severe injury in a replay for a competition that, as has been discussed to death, simply doesn’t hold the weight it used to.

They do it in the League Cup already and works pretty well
