Just let EP be annoyed man. Don't ruin what's left of his weekend with damn facts.
He gets to rage at United and Villa this way.

*Technically* Ade Akinbiyi is a Wolves #9 as we put him on our list in 2000/01 with that number (and demoted Havard Flo as Colin Lee hated him). But he never actually wore it for us.

But that's not the same is it? They were taking empty numbers not used by other players? (i think)

Ronaldo was taking 7 which Cavani had made appearances in already?
You can't normally change full stop. Spare numbers or not.

Also reminders there that Kyle Walker played for Villa and also Stephen Ireland wore #9 for Villa.

I know, but definitely not if a player has made an appearance in that shirt, Salifou hadn't. It's my view that they bent those rules for Ronaldo and United (and the whole "CR7" thing), they wouldn't have done the same had we asked them in the same circumstances with Fabio this season, for example.

Anyway, that was quite the rabbit hole..

Stephen Ireland, he was quite the thing, wonder where he is now!!

There's a joke here about Ireland in Ireland, but I can't make it any good.

That was such an abhorrent thing to do.
I’m not excusing it but didn’t it happen when his partner had a miscarriage and he didn’t want to reveal that. Maybe misremembering but was sure it was something like that

OK, well that definitely changes the framing!

Apologies for the source, but it's quite the tale!

I can’t remember where I read an interview with him, but it changed my perception on him for sure.

When he broke through at City for a short period he was fantastic
