Feels a bit like snobbery tbh, the source of our money is as equally wiffy.

True, but the amount we've spent has just been enough to have us competing at or around our natural level in the pecking order, rather than pushing us into Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal territory as it has with City

A team dominating a national league is unhealthy, 4 seasons in 5 is too much. We've had Liverpool and Utd dominate in the past, but without the element of financial drugging you get with City, plus in the CL era that becomes baked in. The CL itself doesn't bother me either way
Agree with all of that, and the added problem of where the money actually comes from, and the underhand ways in which the state gets it into the football club. I do pretty much find myself forgetting all that for 90 minutes on a match day because they're just so good to watch, it's perfect football. And despite all the above I absolutely adore Pep, he's an absolute genius. He can sometimes get stuck in his own head but looks like he's got over himself a bit now. The way they're playing at the moment, with Stones in midfield, often well up the pitch, and then you look a minute later and he's slotted into a back 4, it's so clever and so perfect for Stones and just seems to get the best out of everyone. And the way he gets some really talented players to work so hard defensively, it's incredible man management. You look at KdB, Bernardo and Grealish in particular - when they first joined they were technically brilliant, but they weren't grafters and only really played with the ball, but their desire to win the ball back is immense. There aren't many managers that can get those sorts of players to work that hard imo

Giles £25m podcast special move to Boro might be in Jeopardy now. Especially after he spannered a pressure cross into the Tees near the death.

It'll be Coventry or Luton in the Premier then. Be nice to get a different team on their for a change.

Boro are hardly mainstays these days tbf. Something like 1 season out of 15.

Good for fans of both Cov and Luton though, both have properly been through the ringer in the last 20 years. Though both are dreadful away days (for different reasons).

Goes without saying that whoever gets promoted will have a very different next few seasons.

I wonder if they'll try to stay up or instead try to build for the next few seasons

Always felt like a lot of the hate for City in the outside world - not related to Wolves - is the fans of the other big teams and their voices in the media who essentially see them as upstarts who should know their place. Even prior to City's takeover, you weren't breaking into the then-top four without serious financial backing. I don't mind City fans enjoying success they would otherwise never see. I don't particuarly care which of the Sky Six dominate the league, all the same to me.

Regardless of where the money has come from or how much they have spent they have assembled a wonderful team and it is managed to perfection by Pep. I find them a joy to watch and like that they have gatecrashed the cosy little red club of United, Liverpool and Arsenal and kicked them out. The football they play is sublime.

Their fans are mostly real supporters too who have known relegation to the 3rd tier and stuck with them and now living the dream, good for them I say.

That performance tonight was a joy to behold and I hope they go on to win it, the treble even better

Before City arrived it was just a big 4 and before Chelsea big money injection it was mainly Man Utd winning everything with Arsenal and Liverpool occasionally picking stuff up.
The way I see it it’s absolutely not a bad thing for English football having Pep coach the likes of Grealish, Foden, Stones etc
It doesn’t make the PL less appealing having a side of this quality in it.
In the last 4 title wins that city have won 2 have gone to the last day and another they’ve been pushed hard by Arsenal. If they were winning it by 15 points every year it would be a problem but they often don’t.

It’s no more boring than having Real pick up another CL title. Would have meant that since the competition inception in 1955 22% of the titles would have gone to them and 30% since the CL was created. Hell of a lot for a continental club competition.

Nope, it's about the competitive nature of the league or lack of it. Where the money comes from is irrelevant from this perspective, it's the end result I care about. I understand the 'does it really matter which of the Sky 6 wins the league' argument and as a generality I agree, it's how I feel about the manufactured race for the Top 4 we get annually. The same one every year isn't good for the competiveness of the league though, it becomes sterile and boring

Not so sure as long as the title races are close often enough it’ll remain enjoyable.
The fact that someone might knock City off their perch brings a different excitement.
Also depends where you’re starting the timeline from? I’d say Bundesliga, La liga, Ligue 1 have a far worse problem of the few dominating. Only Italy is rotating its titles but it’s quality is way off what it used to be.

The PL title race, sterile and boring?

You've been watching a different league to me.

I said it becomes meaning future tense if it continues like this

If they’re winning the league by 10-15 points and it becomes a procession each year then it would, that’s not happening all the time currently and I doubt it will.
Personally imo since Pep came in 2016 we’ve seen the best football the league has ever seen, not just by them Klopp has made Liverpool at joy to watch and pushed them hard.
