Gary O'Neil should be up there.
It's impossible to compare him to Pep, such different jobs I don't know you can, but you can to Cooper and comparatively he's done the harder job. Took them from losing 9-0, crap ground, crap support so don't have that advantage that other clubs have at home or away

Not when Raul scored the equaliser against Man City it wasn’t. Nearly took the fucking roof off.
Poking the hornet's nest a bit, I know, but it kinda bugs me that so many clubs re-use chants like that.

It's not a new thing, but the lack of originality these days is worse than ever. If Utd or Liverpool create a new chant everyone copies it

For sure, it's not exactly surprising.

I think the one that rankles me most is Liverpool (and the media) making such a big fucking deal about YNWA... But don't Celtic also sing it, verbatim as Liverpool do? Takes a lot of the shine off, for me.

It's Liverpool's song comes from the 60's and Gerry and The Pacemakers who were a Liverpool band - although it's originally from Carousel. Celtic and Liverpool have a close link because of their Irish connections.

In the 80s and I assume beforehand we used to sing it, with clapping in between the walk ons, as did a lot of clubs. It's died out now though apart from the cringeworthy sign on version

I’m not sure of their take on it but surely can’t be “the centre forward comes from Mexico”.

Naa I agree. I miss the 80s when we had some great original songs. I think they were original anyway, I was only a kid. But they really are halcyon days compared to the regurgitated shit we get today.

In a complete contradiction though that “Si Senor” that night was fucking biblical. Absolute scenes.

Something along line the lines of and his name is Bobby Firmino

There's something that the kop wants you to know
hes the best in the world, Bobby Firmino

then it's as it is for Raul. Their version has a quicker tempo than ours too.

Only 4 league winning managers have not won manager of the year. 3 of them are city managers 🤔*

*this may or may not be true, but I’m too lazy to check.

Given Firmino is Brazilian, it's also a bit odd that Liverpool sing "Si Senor" and not "Sim Senhor" to him. At least Raul is from a Spanish-speaking country.

Dean Smith endearing himself to Leicester fans before the game “the players need to be about 8/10 for us to get something” post match “you can’t judge us an games v Liverpool” so you didn’t get the best out of the players Dean, if you can’t be judged by games v Liverpool then you’re admitting you can’t stay in the league. We can absolutely judge you on the fact your side was 4-0 down at Fulham with less than an hour played.

On a similar note I’ve harped on before, I will backhand any motherfucker I catch pronouncing it “Hee-men-eth”. That’s not how the Hispanic ‘Z’ sounds!

Leicester are close to being the ultimate warning to clubs like us.

In 10 years then have gone from relegation battlers, Prem League winners, FA Cup winners, the club whose transfer dealings were the envy of all (see Brighton for that spot now) and now unless something amazing happens in the next 2 weeks heading back to the Championship.
Never take your eye off the ball and presume you will be ok because it was last year.

To be fair Leicester's transfers have always been more than a bit overrated. Bought plenty of shite along the way even when they were doing well in terms of league position. Like Slimani was about £30m straight after they won the league and he was rubbish.

Their recruitment the summer they won the league overall was pretty shocking wasn’t it?

I remember listening to one of their video scouts (now our chief scout) basically saying that the first summer was more recruitment team’s work but when they won the league Ranieri got his way more (wanted Nampalys Mendy over Kante for example)
