I guess a foul when clear through is looked at differently.
They have looked at Henderson and his position so you have to presume that is how they have determined clear or not. As the hand ball is made Henderson is mirroring the actions right behind him. If he isn't directly behind him, it's a red as remove the arm and ball goes in.

I thought it would be a red but the way the ref was looking at the video and the fact that the comms and in the studio were calm on it must mean that is the way that is interepted these days
More chance of it not going in though when 1v1, far more variables. Anything could happen for a partially unsighted GK from a goal bound shot or just a sighted one if it’s De Gea or Ruddy in goal! Could have even deflected of the defenders naturally positioned arm…

So to make stopping a chance with less chance of a goal a red but the one with a higher chance a yellow is stupid, and an incorrect interpretation of the rules as they are written.

I get your view (or you trying to justify theirs) but I don’t agree with it based on what the laws say and what morals/common sense say.

In other more interesting news. Tuchel is a cunt and Conte in the stands next week.

To come back to this

VAR Review: A simple decision for the VAR to award the spot kick, as McKenna clearly leant into the shot to prevent the ball reaching the goal.

Should McKenna have been sent off, rather than shown the yellow card by referee Robert Jones?

McKenna hasn't denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO), because Soucek has released a shot on goal. The opportunity has happened.

McKenna could only be shown a red card if he prevented a certain goal, and as goalkeeper Dean Henderson (who saved Rice's penalty) was directly behind him the high probability was the shot would be saved. Therefore, a yellow card was the correct outcome, though many will believe it's more logical that an offence such as this should result in a red card. Reece James was sent off for handball for Chelsea at Liverpool last season because he was on the goal-line with no player behind him, and as such he prevented a goal.

Palace in front at Anfield, excellent finish from Zaha.

Bit of arrogance from Liverpool with how high up they had they pushed everyone even after they'd lost possession

If you’re going to get sent off for a headbutt, that’s the way to do it.

Liverpool down to ten, Nunez sent off for a ridiculous butt under Andersen's jaw.

Fucking Liverpool. Dominate the game and can't score, go down to 10 men and somehow that's when they grab an equalizer. Ugh.

Great finish from Ramos against Dynamo Kyiv who appear to bee wearing our keeper shirt!
