Live Match Discussion 2017/18

Not at all. The majority on here say Leon Clarke is useless, yet he is currently the top scorer in the championship. Pretty simple really.

Yep you're correct Frank. Leon Clarke has at the age of 33 become the world class player we all knew he was

What were your thoughts on his 2 spells here?

Before this Season, Leon at this level was useless.

When we played him it wasn't just the goals, he was strong and aggressive attacking the ball in a way he hasn't before and bullied our defence, particularly Miranda. He looks the player I thought he could be when he first broke through. Fair play to Wilder for unlocking whatever it is that no other manager has managed, but the ex fat ex lazy twat in a few years will look back at what might have been if he'd applied himself when younger.

2004/5: 28 appearances, 7 goals
2005/6: 30 appearances, 1 goal
2006/7: 32 appearances, 6 goals
2007/8: 8 appearances, 3 goals
2008/9: 29 appearances, 8 goals
2009/10: 36 appearances, 6 goals
2010/11: 19 appearances, 1 goal
2014/15: 26 appearances, 3 goals

Total: 208 appearances, 35 goals (0.17 goals per game, equates to 7-8 a season on average)

Yes Frank, I definitely believe that in August you actually thought Leon Clarke was really good at Championship level and he was just bound to prove everyone on here wrong.

I don't know why you're being so silly but it's not endearing.

Ugh. Just seen Cardiff's goal. So, so spawny. Defender kicks it against the blokes foot and it flies into the top corner!

Good coaching finally paying of with him, I guess.

A smaller scale happening with Leon. Oddly his goals have been scored in batches 2 x Sheff Wed, 2 x us, 4 v Hull and 3 v Fulham. Clearly in a $#@! hot streak right and he deserves the praise he will get for it.

Best post on Leon tonight. Obviously Wilder and his current team mates suit him just like jota and Cav suit bonatini

Absolutely loved the Sporting Lisbon game tonight. Unbelievable atmosphere, loads of singing, flags, dude with a megaphone taunting the Olympiacos fans etc. And some seriously good football on display, Sporting were excellent, played a really high line, got the ball out to their wingers who made the ball stick to them, so much skill out wide, and a guy called Doumbia pulling the strings in midfield. The first two goals went in right in front of me, both good finishes after great build ups, and then the third was a header into ground that the keeper couldnt stop. Olympiacos pulled one back with a lovely curling daisycutter from 20 yards out.

That is all...

ITV commentator in the build up to the start of the highlights... "Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani. Yes PSG may have the money but Celtic have the history"

Did them the world of good :surrender:

Wait... They were playing Seydou Doumbia in midfield??

He’s awesome tbf...potential upgrade for Saiss?

Prem teams are already after him.

Awful goal to concede for West Ham. So bad.

And also notice how it was greeted with a very muted commentary!......much as if it was the 5th goal v Everton last night.
Talk about a skysport West Ham love in.
