LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

This we definitely agree on. I love watching Barca play and always have, i don't get the hate.

For a few years in there they were absolute cunts to watch, even Messi wasn't immune (see: him nailing some poor woman with a "clearance" at the Bernabeu). They also seemed to have a certain sense of "what do you mean we have to try???" styled entitlement.

For the most part they could back up the talk but it certainly wasn't endearing.

Just got back from the taverna, where i was the only one willing Juve on, ha ha i love them odds. What a cracking final, i wanted a Juve 2-2 equaliser just so i could watch another half hour of this.
One or two odd decisions from the ref, but in such a big game? though 3-1 was a tad unfair on Juve, and also thought, as i have for a while, that Suarez is a lying, thieving, cheating cunt. Got his shorts pulled in a tackle and went off with a hospitalisable (?) injury.

But praise to both sides....Barca for not sending me to sleep and being electric in attack, and Juve for making more than a good game of it considering the front line they were up against.

very sad for Pirlo, and especially for Buffon, who kept them in it first half, and no one would have deserved a winners medal more.

Barcelona have really won me round this season, I hated them in the Pep days, the football was so slow and dull but they're so much more entertaining now, they've even made me a have grudging respect for Neymar! I used to hate that little show pony bastard but he seems to have come on incredibly since moving to Spain, less pointless tricks and much more of a team player than he ever seemed before, he's scored in the last 5 Champions League games too, pretty impressive record!

Totally agree. That game was excellent at times - both teams counter attacking for long periods. The 75% possession stuff used to bore me rigid. Bit like watching opera - smart people assured me it was genius and I accepted that but really it did nothing for me at all.

Barca look a lot more likely to concede than under Pep too which just adds to the entertainment. The front three leave them exposed but as the opposition you can't get at them too much as when they break 7 times out of 10 they will kill you.

Fine lines in football - a mate of mine who is a big Barca fan said Enrique was a game away from the sack at one stage.

Pretty soundly beaten, 2-1.

Interesting experimental Spanish selection.

Spain XI CostaRica: De Gea, Carvajal, Bartra, Ramos, Bernat, San Jose, Cesc Fabregas, Koke, Aleix Vidal, Alcacer, Nolito.

France behind in Albania.

And lost. Only a friendly but Deschamps must surely be under pressure now. France have been poor of late; inexcusably so given their players.

Paraguay come from two down to equalise late on against Argentina. Great game and they probably should have equalised earlier! Even Santa Cruz was looking like a half decent footballer

Aussie rules.
A record State of the Origin crowd at the MCG today 91,513. love their sport the Aussies.

Germany 1-1 Serbia HT in EURO u21s. Good game.

Quality goals from Djuricic and Emre Can, both look like they find it too easy at that level. Can so much better as a midfielder too.

EnglandU21s XI v Portugal:
------------------------------- Butland (C/GK)
--------------------Jenkinson, Moore, Gibson, Garbutt;
---------------------Ward-Prowse, Carroll, Chalobah;

Ah BT Sport. The only channel I don't have!

Really good open game with chances at both ends.

Ah BT Sport. The only channel I don't have!

Used to have this free as part of my BT broadband, but find they have removed that now & I have to pay if I want it back (but even then wont get it until 1st August - so no use for this game!)

Got commentary on BBC 5 Live at the moment
