It should count. I know it's a pretty shit goal to concede but Neymar does nothing wrong apart from a shit attempt at a header. He doesn't handball it intentionally and his arm wasn't in a unnatural position hence it should be a goal.

Does make for a better last 15 minutes now though.

I can't stand Dani Alves or Busquets, pair of absolute bellends and Suarez is Suarez. Still, they're actually a lot of fun to watch these days rather than the thrill vacuum that Pep's teams devolved into in the end.

Agree about the quality of the game though. Would love a Juve equaliser so we can have another half hour of this.

Well it's not wrong. The rules state that a handball must be deliberate or the arm must be in an unnatural position. Neymar clearly didn't do it deliberately and his arm was in a natural position from heading the ball. You can't change the rules just because it was a really shit goal to concede.

The law on handball is a bit of an ass really, the way it reads you'd never get anything given unless someone punched it away or caught it. Strictly speaking I think it's a goal but common sense prevailed as there was no way it was going in without the diversion from the hand, and clearly a goal going in by that route should be illegal.

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following three offences:

handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)

That's what the rules actually state but the unnatural position thing does come into play but for some reason it's not actually written in the laws.

It would be easier if there was actually a section that explicitly stated what constitutes a handball. Instead it's tacked on in 15 different places regarding 15 different situations.

But the rules do not, in fact, mention anything other than "intentional" handling of the ball in regard to creating a goal.

Fair play. I think the unnatural position stuff should be written into the law aswell because then it makes sense.
