But if you listen to the media Loftus Road is one of the great grounds, close crowd and very atmospheric. it's what is - a morgue, and a shitty one at that.

mind you, matterface on talkshite described turf moor as "one of the great cathedrals of English football" yesterday....

When your name is matterface you kinda have to say things like that.

Forgot about them :icon_lol:

Palace will struggle too with Warnock in charge I think.

Austin is very good. Belongs at a better club than this.

We would need at least 9 players to be comfortable and even then, it's going to be hit and miss who you recruit. We're not miles off but let's not underestimate the scale of things. You don't get to play QPR 19 times and Villa 19 times.

1-0 HT

In fairness that was rubbish.

No I agree, and a problem we had last time was not being ruthless enough with some players. Ward, Stearman, Berra, Foley were all still here by the time we got relegated. Out of them only Foley did I have any real confidence about when we got promoted in the first place.

You guys worry too much,we'll be fine in the premier league.

We won't! I trust us to buy better defenders than Zubar and Mouyokolo (me and YW will do) but that's about it.

Villa have had plenty of possession, they just need the ball into the box to be better.

If Villa doesn't score they'll go five defeats without scoring for the first time in their history (1888).

Sign all the players! I was a big Mick fan up to 2009 - hell, I even told the board in person to appoint him, and it's on the Internet for all prosperity to this day - but so far I think I would trust Ken more at that level. Possession is key and that is his mantra. We are miles short in personnel though. I would want a whole new back four for a start.

Agreed,a new defence and we'll loan Falcao.Sorted.

Hey Yun,don't mess with the cable.

Aston Villa were founder members of the Football League in 1888. Perhaps that is what he meant.

Ikeme

New RB - Batth - New CB - Golbourne

Evans - McDonald

New RW - New CAM - Sako

New Striker

That's my take on things. Golbourne will eventually regain his place and won't lose it again - he's certainly better than the "left backs" we suffered last time. Batth is the club's project and will be promoted to the status of full time club captain once Ricketts is moved upstairs to the coaching team. The current central 2 are a match for most midfields and I'm sure that Sako will make an impact in the Prem. The likes of Stearman and Edwards will stick around for a couple of years yet but will be pressed into the role of permanent squad players as the team evolves.

In short, we need to spend money in order to stay up. I'd like to think we're already planning for the Premier League to a certain extent.
