LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

We'd all have Kightly and Jarvis back, remind me how they're doing in the Prem.

I'm not sure about this now. With hindsight, Jarvis was a one-trick pony. These days being a Wolves winger is about more than just running along the touchline and delivering a loopy cross. Kightly had the potential to be the better of the two but I honestly think James Henry has more ability.

I like Henry a lot but I would definitely rather have Kites. Sako vs Jarvis is 50/50 for me.

That absolutely should have been three. QPR look far more incisive than Villa now. Only one winner from here.

I am coming round to Dan's view - Villa really could go down this year.

New RB - Batth - New CB - Golbourne

Evans - McDonald

New RW - New CAM - Sako

New Striker

That's my take on things. Golbourne will eventually regain his place and won't lose it again - he's certainly better than the "left backs" we suffered last time. Batth is the club's project and will be promoted to the status of full time club captain once Ricketts is moved upstairs to the coaching team. The current central 2 are a match for most midfields and I'm sure that Sako will make an impact in the Prem. The likes of Stearman and Edwards will stick around for a couple of years yet but will be pressed into the role of permanent squad players as the team evolves.

In short, we need to spend money in order to stay up. I'd like to think we're already planning for the Premier League to a certain extent.

Not sure about Batth. Evans isn't ready for the PL yet and I'm not sure whether McDonald would cope with PL midfields.

I think we need another season in the Championship really, but we could lose the players that are potential PL players.

These two, Sunderland, Burnley.

Once again a piss-poor Albion side looks like there will be shitter teams keeping them up by default.

Other than Burnley Villa look as poor as anything in the PL this season, they keep flirting with the drop pretty sure there luck will run out one day.

Palace are wank as well.

A lot of cack in the league. Let's not kid ourselves though - we never got above that level last time. And the Championship team we had in 08/09 was miles better than this one.

I'm certain that McDonald and Evans would control the midfield against the dross on show tonight. There's a long way to go this season and nothing is certain, but like I said, I'd like to think the club are semi-planning for the Premier League already.

We don't play this dross every week though if we go up.

Control against this dross (at least one of which will take the drop I would think) is not the same as control against the other teams in the top flight. We would be in for a season of struggle without significant strengthening. I do believe that we would actually strengthen though. Saying that 15th would be a maximum likely finish even with significant strengthening. Everyone else won't conveniently stand still to allow the promoted sides to catch up.

Bottom six will consist of Burnley, QPR, Sunderland, Palace, Villa and WBA. All of whom are piss poor and dreadful to watch. The bottom of the PL seems to get worse each season. IMO the WBA side of this season and last would have been relegated with comfort 6 seasons ago.

I still think West Brom will struggle, especially with their run in.

Lose Berahino and they're going down, it's as simple as that. They can't keep flirting with the trapdoor forever.
