Leicester 2 v Wolves 0: The Verdict Thread

Just unlucky, apparently. That's why you see hundreds of identical own goals every season.

Finally got round to watching the extended Sky highlights. The miss is shocking but the ball is slightly behind him, on his weaker foot so I GUESS that I can understand a professional footballer, paid thousands of pounds a week, being unable to hit the open target...

The own goal? Fuck me, how can people defend him on that? His body position is all wrong and instead of positioning himself to head the ball away (at the very least, back where it came from) he heads it, deliberately towards his own goal. I'm not saying he scored deliberately but there was no attempt to head the ball on an upward trajectory but instead the neck and head movement is (I guess) to head the ball wide, for a corner. The result was a bullet header that Giroud would have been proud of. You wouldn't accept that on a Sunday morning down the park

Only seen the MoTD highlights as been away, but we were again a bit unlucky early on then somewhat naive

Though WTF Doherty was doing with the header is anyone's guess - a goal that Malcolm McDonald or Duncan Ferguson would have been proud of (problem being that at that end of the field that's not his job)

Did the Vardy tackle injure him? - if so Nuno's hand will be forced to make a change - if necessary could play Bennett out there, he won't/can't act as an attacking fulcrum, but against Man City that's probably not going to be our major problem & he can at least defend and has played there before

I have conceded a similar own goal. I was incandescent. The player who scored it still reminds me of the abuse he got from me. It was 30 years ago on the plastic pitch at Kenilworth road.
