[League Cup QF] Forest 1-1 Wolves (4-3 pens): Verdict Thread

Just seen the end of game antics MGW looks incensed by something. Himself and Henderson (who is a mega shit bag) did pretty much everything to rile things up during the shootout.
Yeah, he's incensed because he's just realised he's a massive cunt. It comes as a shock sometimes....
As for the result i'm glad we're out. Played well in the second half but we were never going to win the shootout. I'd rather we concentrate on staying in the PL. We can do the cups next season....

Bottom line is MGW is a middling player who didn't even feature that much for us.

I know some Wolves fans didn't take to him, but this beef he's manufacturing is bizarre

Just let him keep doing it Karma will catch up with him in the end.
By all accounts he was getting a lot of stick from our end tonight so it’s not a surprise.

Apart from when we were paying his wages and he didn’t turn up to work to force a move, you mean?

You’re right, though. He showed respect to us tonight where as MGW showed his true colours.

I wouldn't turn up to work for that cunt Lage either. Not when you could sit at home and have more idea what the tumble dryer is saying to you.

Not only was MGW a prick when he was with us, he was shit too.

No idea why he has an issue with Wolves fans - always far too tolerant with him in my view and overly loyal because of his background.

Couple of brief moments, other than that he always thought he was better than he was - much more ego than talent.

That ego has quite obviously swelled alongside the ridiculous price tag.

Good riddance to the twat - I couldn’t wait to see the back of him - feel justified tonight too because he was bang average and behaved like the cunt he always was.

He’ll be straight out of there when they go down too.

He’s exactly the type of player I don’t want playing for my football club.

For a split second there, I was on Morgan's side.

Can't fathom why.

First half was a disjointed mess, no-one seemed to know what they were doing, slack in possession, the old failings of looking clueless as soon as we got in the final third. But then I suppose we're trying out new things on the fly and having to put out mix and match teams with the volume of games and switching between competitions. Much better after the changes and I'd put three at the back in the bin for now, we're no longer very good at playing it. Stonewall penalty on Nunes but shite refereeing should be of no surprise.

Cunha gives it absolutely everything, obviously cares and a smashing cross for the goal.

We know we still need new players, we can but hope they'll come. Some of the ones we've got here already...well we know they are very hit and miss. So we got bad Guedes and bad Hwang today, but decent Raul and decent Jonny (albeit slightly questionable on their goal, but it's a mess all round).

Never fancied us on pens, our historic record is dire and with that XI we were always going to struggle to cobble together five good takers. Even Ruben is pretty fallible, that might be as many as five I've seen him miss for us now.

Ambivalent with the outcome in the end, progress would have been nice but do we really need another two games sandwiched in? On to Saturday, genuinely huge game.

Well, Ive just come in from the pub and it appears from the matchday thread that we were terrible, feels like we need a new bomb squad, Semedo, Jonny, Toti, Hodge, Traore, Raul. Also seems JL picked a completely wrong starting 11 and got the tactics wrong.
Quite amused at the MGW comments too.
I really ought to know better by now than to read a matchday thread.
Off to bed and dream of a comfy win against West Ham.

Edit, Ive just read DWs review and feel a whole lot better.

Nobody, but nobody has slagged Hodge off for the penalty, just him being put in that position
Who said he was "put" in that position? Perhaps he wanted to take a pen. He's an adult and a pro and Julen had faith in him, rather than the other remaining players. All round, Joe deserves a lot of credit. Equally, people shouldn't be laying into other players. Penalties are a lottery. Even the great man Neves missed.

I think a lot of people are showing their true colours too to be honest, some of the comments and abuse he is getting is a tad baffling with how strong it is regardless of what he did last night. I'd still have him over Hwang or Guedes as he has far outperformed them over the course of the season so far.

We are the only set of fans from the teams he has played for, that think this off him. I think our fan base needs to at least be aware of that.

Being put in that position doesn't mean someone dragged him to the spot, I'm sure he was willing to take it, just that there were more senior players, notably Jonny who assuming no injuries should have been up there before him.

I'd add to that, just because he stepped up to take a pen doesn't mean he's beyond criticism for his play in the game itself.

As for people getting on their high horse about MGW, they might want to take a look at his actions and his social media.

The guy's a fucking prick.

Other options were Toti, Semedo, Adama. None of which you’d want near a pen. Then Jonny and Kilman. Should have been Kilman
Jonny has scored a few goals in open play and is experienced so I would have expected him to put his hand up. That said, managers often go with the players that are up for it. BTW Loved Cunha’s pen.

Another thing from last night was how many wayward passes were there? There seemed to be as many in one game as you'd expect to see in a season.

You need to break that down a bit and put it into context. Fans will judge a player by how they perform when wearing your shirt.
He did very well at Sheff Utd & Swansea but their fans knew he was not there’s.
With us showed glimpses here and there, but social media behaviour and breaking lockdown rules when with us and being openly unhappy when being here really isn’t going to make fans be particularly happy with you.
