Keir Starmer at it again..

It genuinely isnt pointless is it? it is saying that yes 2025 labour isnt all unicorns pissing rainbows but its the best choice of the political shit sandwich.

I think every line of my posts disagrees with your last line. i keep saying it is poor. criticise away.

But it's totally redundant.

It's like saying water is wet.

I don't understand the point in saying it, everyone knows that already, but it felt like a rebuttal.

but the alternative to starmer isnt a leader from the left of the labour party, or even left of that.

it is badenoch. or it is farage

And anyway, this version of Labour won't win the next election anyway, so we'll end up with that anyway.

So your point is getting less and less meaningful.

So, what do you want then? because labour has a big majority defending against them from a centrist point of view.

I think he'll get a second term too, not in a Blair "things are going well and you're popular" way, of course. Come the next election, the really unpopular decisions will be distant past and there could be enough marginal improvement in public services and living standards that people decide it's not worth the destabilising risk of changing government.

It will be close though; Reform are going to constantly get 15%> of votes for as long as immigration is high, which will now be forever - between them and the Tories there's 12m votes, 6m for the LDs and Greens, but there's not much for Labour to pinch there as they're pissing everybody off. Obviously when its crunch time and tactical voting kicks in it'll be different, but you really wouldn't be surprised by a LD/Labour arrangement

I'd be surprised mate, it hasn't happened for 48 years.

I guess if the Tories and Reform merge then there'd be little option, but if T and R did I think a Lab/LD coalition would struggle anyway.

We both know anecdotally how toxic things are, and with Trump, Musk and Farage pushing things further right I see that drastically effecting that vote.

There was a lot of voter fatigue (14 years is a long time) that got Labour in too, that won't be there for the next election.

Labour being neither here nor there in the way they are operating isn't helping them.

*in fact, the last successful LD/Lab coalition was 1929, so perhaps it's a once in a 100 year thing.

Just to point out, a number of you will have a certain influential local MP, Pat McFadden worth writing to if you wish to air views on this government

a “danger to the world” and “little short of a white nationalist and racist.”

And now.

“I consider my remarks about President Trump as ill-judged and wrong, and I think that the times and attitudes towards the president have changed since then,” Mandelson said in a row-back

A cunt is always a cunt, Peter.

Spine of a jellyfish. Just because more people are taken in by neo fascist oligarchy doesn't change anything. 52% of GenZ in the UK support a "strong leader" with no elections or parliament aka a dictatorship. 32% say the UK should be run by the military. That okay is it FFS?

He’s the UK Ambassador so has to be diplomatic now he has to work with Trump, what do you expect him to say? Anyone who knows even a little about Mandelson knows what he really thinks of Trump.

Maybe don't take the role if that's how you feel about their leader? Or don't appoint him to the position? People let politicians off for this kind of thing far too easily nowadays.
