Johnny75

Didn’t see the comment that was made so not going to comment on that. From a personal view I can see how he’s rubbed people up the wrong way. He does come over as aggressive, confrontational at times, however like anything that’s read, it can be misconstrued. It may well be just his posting style. That being said, everyone needs a dance partner….

Obviously making comments about harming people or it would be amusing, are poor form and shouldn’t be allowed.

Its not difficult is it

- if you don’t like how a poster posts, don’t communicate with them - I’m sure there are posters who cba to speak with me, and vice versa. That’s fine…
- don’t put patronising emoji’s to try and wind people up when there’s clearly an agenda/dislike towards them (il await the plethora of laughie faces coming my way)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and last couple of days there’s actually been some decent conversations. No need for people to try and score points, be aggressive and all that jazz.

I mean, I’m one of the few who still thinks we’ll stay up with GoN in charge, and I haven’t been met with abuse….yet. It can be done!

Referendums on permanent bans?

That would bring harmony to the forum…..

Rather than just debating the removal of one poster, moving forward it would be nice to hear members thoughts on how they think bans should be managed. How many strikes before you’re out, length of bans, information given out on such rulings, amount of moderators, length of moderator terms, type of offences leading to such bans. I’m sure that any sensible suggestions can be looked into.

Have you got a leaderboard of most incidences of being banned and/or most days banned?

I liked the post @Carsy but wanted to laugh at "I mean, I’m one of the few who still thinks we’ll stay up with GoN in charge, and I haven’t been met with abuse….yet. It can be done!" so here you go 🤣

I've only recently taken him off ignore. I've put him on ignore on a few occasions over the years.
I actually enjoy his football based posts but he has been banned on a number of occasions over the time I've been on the forum, I wouldn't have banned him but I completely understand why the mods have taken that decision.
Quite a lot of his posts are personal attacks and anyone who can't see he can be patronising, condescending, arrogant and at times aggressive are blinkered.
Also I don't think the mods have taken this decision lightly as I believe some of them are personal friends of him.

I could name you half a dozen posters off the bat who display these characteristics with some regularity, not as directly perhaps. Doesn't actually mean I dislike them all, either.

You've got me on aggressive though :D

Nah, I remember you from a few years ago... 🤣 (joking)

I could count from the banning thread but that hasn’t always been completed for all bans.

J75 with 6 up until yesterday?
Forum rules below. Based on leedswolf totting up, not double figures and it would seem like a 6 day ban would be appropriate if a ban was appropriate in the first place - I don't think it was appropriate and definitely not a permanent ban, posters should be able to call him out for being a dick when he is being a dick.

He is a troll, abusive, petty, argumentative and at times nasty. These are not traits that only he exhibits on here.

He is also a regular snitch to the mods apparently which we all know now which is good to be aware of. Everybody loves a tell-tale.

So going forward the Mod team will be working on this basis

- Argument is getting out of hand a Mod/Admin post to say calm down and saying which posters need to either walk away or use the ignore function
- Request is ignored - Those involved will get 24 hours to cool off. Can't walk away from pointless stuff, we shall assist
- Multiple times sent off away by the Mods will start to add up the days away. 1st and 2nd time will be just the 1 day. 3rd time it will jump to 3 days, 4th time - 4 days etc .
Hit an 7th time and look forward to a month off. If you hit double figures, then it will be discussed whether you actually want to be on here.

He went through a period of putting laughing or headsgone emojis on everything I posted 😂.
It got annoying so I did a few back 😂. The only time he really annoyed me was when he said that something I posted - football related 'showed my ignorance'.
Cheeky bastard.
Lately I find myself agreeing with a fair bit that he says and if not he's usually interesting and makes valid points.
I'm not his biggest fan by a long stretch but didn't want to see him banned permanently.
Didn't see his post regarding head being stoved in, as long as it wasn't mine, i aint bovvered. 🤔

I agree there are others, I don't dislike them either, I've never said I dislike Johnny, I don't know any of these people so I wouldn't dislike them on the basis of their online persona. As I said I wouldn't have banned him, I wouldn't have banned Frank and Cyber either but understand the mods actions.
As for the 'aggressive' thing, maybe I'm just thinner skinned than others.

The post was in response to someone saying something along the lines of "i'd hate to be in a scrap with you lot" in reference to people complaining about the performance on the match day thread, I thought it was tongue in cheek talking about the hypothetical "scrap" rather than him actually wanting to see someones "head stoved in"

This is fair, I’ve had a few good back and forths with him last few weeks or so.

I personally enjoyed our interactions, can’t comment for others Ofcourse

Cyber kept asking for accounts to be closed, opening new ones, talking to himself via two accounts and totally lost the heid by the end.

Pretty sure he went because he was just more trouble than it was worth.

Oh it was to the guy whose last 2 posts have been to generally slag the forum off?

Pain in the arse for sure, but let's be honest; he also got regularly piled on, trolled and mocked constantly, which left most forumites pearls distinctly unclutched, incidentally...

Just to dispel any notion that the forum without Johnny would be some kind of relaxed and gentlemanly ideal
