Now we've probably all had our say; to prevent the obvious circularity that is clearly unfolding, can the boss men advise on next steps, if any, please?

Why not call it out at the time then? It’s an internet forum with a bunch of randoms.

Edit - or at least leave an emoji to show your erudition
The bust ups weren’t a secret and it felt like making such a deal out of it was only going to make things worse.

I don’t hold a grudge or anything but that’s the impact he had on me for a good while (again, some years ago now).

Might be worth locking this till boss men have got their heads together perhaps?
Nah, saves other threads being derailed.

Across this thread we have only really had 1 suggestion on moving forward (apart from reverse the ban and make it more permanent) unless I have missed stuff.

On the ban itself, ultimately it will fall to the uber boss man to decide as has been done in the past on permanent bans. So until that decision is made, nothing further will happen there.

We probably do need to revisit the rules for bans and maybe put options to the vote. Even if new ways came in though, it wouldn't be a slate being wiped clean event. People would still be judged on previous behaviour.

Mods - Do you all think the Mod team needs refreshing or simply adding 1 or 2 to the team? Maybe a separate thread and the over arching view actioned on.

I don’t think the mods need completely overhauling but some more support and new voices by adding 1-2 more could help imo.

I think it's worth gauging interest in who would like to be a mod. I'd imagine there won't be much interest and it sorts itself.

Remember when Templeton posted videos of literally decapitated babies and his post was removed. Should there not have been a ban chucked in there for the content of the post? I'd consider that a one and done ban considering the graphic nature of it.

I mean if we're going to clutch at pearls over stoving somebodies head in then surely to God somebody posting video of dead children's bodies is at least equally offensive to the sensibilities of the forum.

One suggestion id have is if the swear filter can be applied to all posters, I know that's rich coming from me and I post on the edge sometimes but did allowing posts to be unfiltered contribute to not just Johnny's post but others (WS1 Wolf offering out posters for a scrap etc) I can swear with the best of them but I think the swear filter might aid in overall self-policing as nobody wants to read
****ing Doherty useless fat ****ing ****

I know the swear filter wouldn't have directly prevented stoving anybodies heads in getting through but maybe it might encourage a more civilised posting style across the board as people will swear less and introduce a rule that bypassing the swear filter (tw@t, cvnt etc) is grounds for a warning or for repeat offenders a stay at HMP TWF.

Plus, it makes insulting Shi a bit more interesting, calling him a cunt is just lazy ;)

Another couple of mods can't hurt, assuming anyone wants to do it.
I just think a good dollop of common sense, and an acceptance that we're on one of a zillion internet forums, not in the H of P, or the UN, could help.
Come on lads and lassies, we're trading mostly opinions not absolute facts, lets play nice.
