Were you not part of the process and had a say? He's banned, by the very definition he has no right of reply. Only one person to blame for that. ..unless there is something else about the process you would like to tell us?
I was a part of the process, and no there's nothing I'd like to add about it.

Weird comment, particularly as you know I had nothing to do with the "decision", I'm not a mod and I had him on ignore.
I know you had no part of it. I was more making a point how you have been extremely active in this thread, replying to numerous people about why he deserves his ban, and telling us 'stories' about when you met him.

I can understand the very existence of this thread putting EP on the defensive tbf.

I wonder if the cut and thrust of a football forum is really suitable for sensibilities so hyper-sensitive and alert to offence from every quarter.

I'd suggest we all need to reflect on our reactions and expectations after this, not just Johnny

Is it "hyper sensitive" to not enjoy being called a cunt (by you) or persistently provoked (by Johnny) or a suggestion that I'm lying as above (by Trips)?

In fact, I'm far more calm and rational to those types of incidents on here than I would be in real life.

If you feel a member of a community is targeting you, then when action is taken multiple pillars of said community come out in defense of your targeter, yes, that immediately paints a picture as to the values of said community, or at least your standing within it relative to the individual you feel wronged you.

I'd logged out as I'm not really down with the new flavour or here and the 'peacocking' as it was described yesterday (great term), but honestly its a football forum.

I've had Booz call me a cunt on here and he is one of the nicest people I've met (weird Quo obsession aside) - it doesn't matter. Taking serious offence at flippant comments is, as PK says, a problem on both sides. I've never seen Johnny be racist/sexisit/homophobic as I have with others on here, he's rude and OTT for sure but if being called a cunt genuinely affects you beyond this site then maybe you need to consider how you use the internet.

So you're telling me (and others) what they should and shouldn't be offended by?

And also ignoring the persistent nature of J75's behaviour over many years that several people have explained they experienced and that I've explained at great length.

I am not, I am just saying that expecting everyone to discourse as you want them to is a tad selfish. I have issues with your posting style and, in general, I choose to ignore them.
And where have you drawn that conclusion from exactly?!

In isolation I agree. He has form for targeting specific posters over the course of months or longer, though. It wears extremely thin and for the solution to be “well don’t engage with the forum/internet at all then” gives that behavior a pass that is, frankly, immensely disappointing.

Its not giving it a pass, its calling it out and asking for change when it happens rather than getting all high and mighty when people cannot respond.

The first time I incurred Johny's wrath was when I disagreed with him about the qualities of Roderick Miranda, it's been pretty bloody relentless ever since.

When was that 7/8 years ago?

Mate, I joined over a decade ago, whether toward me or someone else that side of him has never changed at all.

I repeatedly showed my annoyance and was told I was "playing the victim" or "thin skinned" or was often just met with a laughing emoji.

To suggest I and others haven't called it out repeatedly over the years is ridiculous.

And that's not considering people who just stopped posting that we'll never be able to quantify as they've.....stopped posting.

The reason people are speaking with more freedom about it now, is because he isn't here!

I also want to be clear I’m not trying to sucker punch the Johnster. Just that I understand why EP might feel isolated in this and that that is an extremely shit way to feel in a community that otherwise gives you a sense of belonging.

If all these posts are you 'not bearing a grudge', remind me never to get on your wrong side, mate 😉

Those with long enough memories may recall that I also had numerous run-ins with Johnny years back and spoke to the mods about it on several occasions too. I'm not part of any friendship group, don't know anyone irl on here, and i managed to find a way for us to both to inhabit the forum without permanent exclusion or emotional distress.

You're going to lose a lot of colour on here if you allow certain dominant voices to police the place (post after post after post) based on their own narrow sensibilities. And I ain't talking about Alan
