Jeremy Corbyn

Well what a surprise. Corbyn is full of praise for Castro. Though he is consistent, he was also full of praise for the IRA.

Mixed bag was Castro. Greatly improved education and health and played a large role in ending apartheid. Stood up to constant threat from the USA. On the down side - you could be imprisoned for criticising his regime.

Cuba is such a weird country - some awful, run down slums all over the place but amongst the people living in them you'll see see people with state of the art prosthetics!

Definitely a mixed bag - ridiculous extremes to the good and the bad.

Cuba probably scores well compared to other West Indian countries when it comes down to health, education and crime levels.

Against Jamaica or Haiti possibly. Compared to Barbados or the Bahamas certainly not.

If we're playing hysterical bollocks bingo you can add Thatcher to that list for her support of Pinochet.

And D-Cam for his arms deals with Saudi Arabia.

There is, in my opinion, a massive difference between Thatcher and Castro, and I think you know that very well. Apart from his treatmention of opponents, Castro ordered the execution of hundreds of Batista supporters, yet Mr Corbyn has praised him. That is what I find difficult to understand.

It's more than that though isn't it? A pattern he repeats over and over again.

1. Post something to elicit a reaction.
2. Tell everyone he's entitled to his opinion.
3. Refuse to actually debate the content of his post.
4. Says that everyone else is a lefty. (The victim post)
5. Stir and repeat.

Adds absolutely nothing to these threads apart from volume.

Deliberately miss the point of the post did you?

Frank, I'd recommend re-reading that. No one compared Thatcher to Castro.

So why was Thatcher mentioned? All that was needed was to agree or disagree with my view that Corbyn supports tyrants and terrorists.

There is a separate thread where views on the Conservative party are regularly aired. It is just a pity that Visage and TSB get so aggrieved whenever anyone has the temerity to criticise the Labour Party.

Time now for my first drink in a month.

Thatcher was mentioned because it is relevant to the debate.

Thank you for proving my points above.

The objective was to determine if you think politicians supporting tyrants is a bad thing all the time, or just when its done by Labour politicians. I think we have our answer.

I will spell it out. I am sure my neutrality here will be respected by Frank even though he thinks I really am a closet leftie (which is fucking hilarious, but I digress...)

Corbyn supporting Castro and the IRA = Bad

Therefore

Thatcher supporting Pinochet = Bad

QEFUCKINGD

More than equalised by his opposition to Blair though surely?

How many people were killed by Pinochet?

Various reports and investigations claim that between 1,200 and 3,200 people were killed, up to 80,000 people were interned and as many as 30,000 were tortured during the time Pinochet was in government.

I agree with you. My original point though was that Corbyn has done, and continues to support terrorists.
