Jeremy Corbyn

Does this mean that in about 20 years time we will start politically shifting to the left as the Tory pensioners pop their clogs or do we just automatically all start voting Conservative once we hit 65 and pine for the good old days? I can't wait to don my rose tinted (and perhaps slightly bigoted) spectacles and yearn for the halcyon days of the EU referendum era.

Unsure. In the 80's newsround did mock elections around the time of a GE for schoolchildren. Overwhelmingly the greens coasted home. Sadly, that didn't come to fruition as time passed. As a certain comedian said, once people start voting with their wallets...

It's well known that people get more conservative as they get older. Tgats why pensioners get a triple lock and youngsters get bumraped to pay for it.

But that unfortunately is reality. The richest in the country often have the opportunity to pay thye least tax. Middle england PAYE is always what supports the system. I look at our politicians and parties with real despair. I have never felt that these politicians have been further from the real reality of modern life. None of the main parties political strategy matches the desire or need of the majority of the people.

Please highlight what bum raped is defined as. To me the under 25 of today have far far more options, rights and opportunity than I did at their age and that is a good thing. OK they have tuition fees and student loans but even then it could be argued as counter balancing. I say this from a position of parent whose youngest has just started university so am aware of the high cost but also the potential reward. Not picking a fight, just genuinely interested why you feel they have such a bad deal

They have to pay extra taxes to cover those nice fat final salary pensions that the older have in cast iron form, that even people of my modest mid-forties age missed out on.

So pay more, work later, get a shitter pension.

That's bumrape.

Yet live 15 years longer than your parents? Its relative surely? I am 52 and look and act nothing like my father did at 52 and have better health prospects. My children even more so. My grandchildren will surely be looking at 100 years. I was looking at 75. Thast is whast has happened in 2 generations. I paid a pension from 18. I have also lost 40 work colleagues under 65. Its relative not bum rape

Some absolutely disgraceful specimens running in the Batley by election, I'd say they should be ashamed of themselves but I don't credit them with that much awareness.

Fortunately, I am an exception to the rule.

Me too...In fact I think I'm getting more left wing as I get older. Living in a constituency that is a nailed on Conservative winner and seeing them trying to close my local hospital and make everyone travel to Middlesbrough for any kind of treatment, to pay £2 an hour to park at said hospital is just the tip of the iceberg

Blair's reportedly making a comeback into politics...

Does make you wonder what he'll do. He's toxic to the Labour Party membership and I can't see him joining the Lib Dems.

Crossbench peer?

As a former PM he'd be a shoe-in for the Lords.
