Sadly, as we see, those that blindly followed the Thatcherite dream still do so. Those that want a fair society that has compassion for those less fortunate = bad enemy within and must be Commies. Those that want to exploit their wealth and $#@! the rest = good as free market forces will make everything better. Those who foolishly think that by aligning themselves to the Thatcher dream means they will become better off than the rest = gullible.
If a new movement suddenly sprang up advocating we sell everything, put all the funds into one big pot and then distribute the wealth equally there wouldn't be many wealthy people subscribing (and I include ardent Socialists).
Capitalism/Free Markets are not the problem. In essence they produce dynamism, innovation and incentive. The problem is people who manipulate for their own gains and the power of monopolies and cartels. The conditions have to be free and ethical for the markets to flourish. It's all one big club that the majority are not invited to.
