Jeremy Corbyn

I suppose meat, and meat farming in particularly, is harmful to people.

Still like a burger every now and then though.

Growing population and a diet of increasing meat consumption is going to be a real problem for future generations. It's going be a tough sell to get people eating tofu though.

In an interview with Viva!life, a magazine for vegans, she admitted she was a "militant" when it came to clamping down on meat consumption.

She said: "I really believe that meat should be treated in exactly the same way as tobacco, with public campaigns to stop people eating it.

"Progress on animal welfare is being made at EU level... but in the end it comes down to not eating meat or dairy.

"The constant challenging of the environmental impact of livestock farming is making me more and more militant."
I'm excited by Corbyn's appointment but he needs to nip shite like this in the bud quickly.

What a stupid cow.

Don't hate women, just hate the liberal, west-hating left.:icon_biggrin:

Its pretty obvious that meat eating is a fairly inefficient way of gaining nutrition in terms of its impact, and its not unreasonable for a minister to suggest that inidivudals consider the environmental effect of their diets.

Yeah, it's perfectly reasonable, given that 95% of people eat meat to put a militant vegan in charge of the farming industry vis. Not that she'll ever get the real job, but it's interesting that you think there's nothing wrong with her statement.

Aren't more than 10% of the UK's population vegetarian now?

For the record I think it's silly to appoint anyone with outright militant views to such an office, no good can come of it.

It all comes down to the individual, I eat meat because I like the taste, I drink beer because I like the taste, I eat sugary things because I like the taste but I don't make a fucking pig of myself.

Wrong thread mate! There's a Dave one for all that nonsense.

Whats your view on extreme right wing politics?

Shouldn't it be; 'What's'?

I don't think extremism of any sort has ever been very beneficial, for very many, for very long. So basically I'm against it.

What's your view on halal slaughter? Do you think it should be banned in the UK? Should it be made illegal in the UK? and anyone found practising it be liable to imprisonment?

You do realise if you come across as a horrible, objectionable, caricature of an extreme 80s right wing individual - to the point where I'm not sure whether it's an act or not, as I'm not sure anyone could genuinely hold those beliefs - then people will be hostile towards you?

Does strike me as hilarious the 2 posters who are the most vehement in their objections to any form of immigration are ex-pats who don't live in the UK.
And their objections tend to be towards non-white immigrants.

Jewish sochets have been practising in the UK sine the 1700's. How come it is suddenly wrong when muslims have a similar method for preparing their meat?
