Jeremy Corbyn

:icon_exclaim:

Dan Jarvis was mooted previously, would be a better option than Abbott

I was joking about Abbott, she's the best thing that happened to the Cons, but I don't know how Jarvis actually differs to Corbyn apart from he's a bit more hunky and all the rest of the media spun trash we deem important. You'll have to convince me there.

Probably can't as not a Labour supporter & have never voted that way, though have heard him speak on a few occasions - he seemed to be left of centre of the Labour Party (which might appeal to Corbyn's supporters more than some other option) & a better speaker to boot.

No doubt someone with more intimate knowledge of Labour politics will put me right if that is all bollocks.

Starmer, Jarvis, Lewis or Ummuna would be fine by me. Starmer preferably.

Was going to bring up Chuck Ummana - not sure he would run again though after his withdrawal in 2015

Chuka like Clive Lewis is too anti Brexit to become the next leader at least prior to us leaving the EU, he'd be pulled apart for it. If Corbyn were to leave, then if such a thing still exists in the Labour Party, they need a unity candidate between the membership and the PLP and ideally one the right wing press won't destroy on day one, Jarvis or Starmer potentially.

I think by 2020 the idea that Brexit was a shit idea will be a significant asset.

Ummuna always seemed to be to the right of Blair - not sure that it's what Labour want right now

Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson says left-wing supporters of Jeremy Corbyn are involved in a plot which could destroy the party as an electoral force.

I often wonder what exactly is the agenda of Momentum?

To recreate the late 70's and early 80's I believe....not sure from which century though

It seems not everyone is happy that Ken Livingstone has not been expelled from the Labour Party.

The Chief Rabbi accused Labour of "failing the Jewish community" by not expelling him.
Ephraim Mirvis said the decision "yet again failed to show" that the party was "sufficiently serious about tackling the scourge of anti-Semitism".

Tom Watson and Ed Milliband were among those who were disappointed at the outcome.

Pretty much every Labour MP is fucked off with decision, Inc Corbyn.

Ah but he's a terrorist sympathiser dont ya know.

Good week for Jezza - good policies announced.

Free school meals, £10 minimum wage and some good stuff for small businesses. Also looking to appeal to pensioners which is politically smart although the pricks always vote Tory anyway despite the fact Labour has done more for them than anyone.

Yup, credit where credits due.

A decent start. Its still Corbyn. Many won't get past that.

Corbyn with some substantive policies that actually can win votes is a good start. The next step is learning how to attack the current government.
