Jeremy Corbyn

She'd like to rule as a despot, she's not allowed to though. Because we have courts and stuff which stop Prime Ministers from doing that.

Her attitude towards personal privacy is very telling, seriously nasty piece of work.

I am no fan of Theresa. I am no fan of Brexit either (you would never know!).

However, surely the only thing you could make an argument for which she has a mandate is the Brexit process. It is a $#@!e mandate, it was hardly overwhelming, but it is there for pushing that agenda item. It is also just about the only policy she has espoused.

Meh probably but she will just push her own agenda under the guise of a brexit mandate.I don't trust her one iota.

On the money.

Thank you! 100% agreement. So let's use the world's smallest pair of scissors to split the hair for Leeds between behaving like a despot which she does and being a despot which our political system can partially control.

I think his record as Health Secretary undermines his credibility, he'll forever be haunted by Stafford. I like Clive Lewis, but whether he could survive the right wing onslaught that would come his way for voting against A50 I'm not sure.

Undoubtedly. He did however do a lot of good for the Hillsbrough families as secretary of media culture and sport. I know Staffs is more high profile but I respect the guy. Have a look at the speech he gave at Anfield on the 20th anniversary or to the Commons.

Burnham's going to be Mayor of Manchester soon.

Only days before the Stoke by election, and it may not be the formality that Labour expected. UKIP are said to be closing the gap. Defeat in Stoke would be disastrous for Corbyn.

Personally I will be surprised if Labour lose that seat. They should JUST hold on. And that will be more luck than judgement.

Copeland is the one that's vulnerable.

If the people of Stoke vote for Nuttall then that sends an awful message about them.

Not that Bookies have a great track record when it comes to politics over the last couple of years, but the Tories are 2/5 to win Copeland and Stoke is neck and neck between Labour and UKIP.

If Labour lose both seats, will it trigger another attempt to oust Corbyn as leader?

It probably will but if he wants to remain in charge, he will. His supporters will vote for him again

The only way JC stops being leader is he decides he should walk away from it.

Surely he realise the damage he is doing to the Labour Party. With him as leader the Labour Party are not even a credible opposition, let alone a party waiting to gain power.

I'm not sure Corbyn is remotely interested in power. When we debated it at the time on here there were quite a few posters who said they'd rather have a Labour Party which represents what they saw as the inherent values of the Labour movement and if that meant it wasn't appealing to the wider electorate then so be it. Better that than a 'Pink Tory' government. It's an opinion I respect but not one I'm in agreement with.
