January Transfer Window, 25/26 Season

Angel Gomes fits the profile of a player that has something to gain from joining a relegation procession. Recently he’s been on the bench a lot so by coming to us he puts himself in the shop window to other PL teams. Worst case he goes back to Marseille. I’ve no doubt his agent has touted him around and at the moment nobody but Wolves are interested. Be pleasantly surprised if the option applies if we’re relegated but he might want to come back to England regardless.

Selling JSL but signing Armstrong

I don’t understand any clause that would depend on whether we get relegated?

We’re already as good as relegated.

I assume Angel Gomes has looked at the league table?

Dear Strand Larsen.

Don't even think about penning a goodbye AI letter, just fuck off.

Love Quirk

Strand Larsen heading for medical

Finally, a transfer in to replace Mane's midfield minutes, what we've been screaming out for. Gomes A Gomes midfield trio.

(Sarcasm aside, I realise if you can get someone like Angel for that loan or option price, you take it. Just hope they play Mane more attacking when  Hwang becomes the first choice #9)

Armstrong is the kind of signing I was expecting us to make. At least it shows some semblance of planning for next year, he will score at that level if the rest of the team is set up well.

Surprised Boro aren't coming in for him at that price given they were interested. He would get them over the line I think.

Strand Larsen will leave an odd legacy. 10+ goal PL seasons aren't that common for a club like us but it all felt quite underwhelming even when he was on a good run. His general play is not very good at all and he misses some absolute shockers.

I wouldn't have him anywhere near 2010-2012 Steven Fletcher, let alone Raul, Jota or Cunha.
