He was shit a lot of the time last season too.I think he'll be fine at the next club he plays for, probably like he was last year for us. Not sure he's anything more than a lower mid table striker though.
His eventual goal tally that year masked a lot of anonymous games, and if he isn't scoring he's not much use. His hold up play is dreadful for someone his size, even when he is trying.
He had quite the catalogue of sitters last season too. Should have had 20.I said in the summer that I thought his tally last season was a Hwang-esque over performance compared to the quality of the footballer. He's just not very good. His movement isn't sharp enough to play off the shoulder, he's not technically good enough to create his own chances, he's weak as piss and one-paced.
Last season he had Cunha and RAN setting up chances and from memory his finishing percentage was very good. Like Sa’s early form when he joined exceeding XG was never likely to last, especially as chances became fewer and the pressure built.I said in the summer that I thought his tally last season was a Hwang-esque over performance compared to the quality of the footballer. Tbf didnt a lot of his goals come when Cunha was having his enforced holidays?Last season he had Cunha and RAN setting up chances and from memory his finishing percentage was very good. As you say he’s solid enough but I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’d be an asset for a team in the top half of the PL let alone one currently in the top three.See he had great metrics in his previous league and is one of the few for me that looks better now than he did at the start. I think in a much better team he would be solid enough.
If Wolfe stays , then he will get first team action from here till the end of the season - which he needs for the World Cup . If he leaves , he'll sit on a bench for 5 months - that won't help his World Cup chances .
Why would Villa want him, they already have Digne and Maatsen.Wolfe now linked with Villa as well as Brighton. Bizarre as he’s been very average at best.

He'd be able to help keep their Xg down.Maybe they really need someone to run quite slowly in a straight line up and down the touchline for 90 minutes
