January 2022 Transfer Thread

How many of our players run around Shaw with the ease that Traore did?!

Shaw was ropey during that imo. Traore couldn't get it from under his feet to begin with and Shaw basically gave him the time to set himself and take him on. It was incredibly passive from him I thought.

Still crocked I think?

as for Marcal, I know he’s played LCB in france but as far as I’m aware, he’s never played there here and he’s never really been considered anything other than a LWB/LB, despite people continually suggesting it on here.
Honestly, “people on here”, how nuts are they suggesting that the manager might try him at LCB.

People on here, and the manager…

I thought he was poor there today FWIW, but, still, the tone…

He’d never played LCB for us in his entire time at Wolves before today, but it seems to get suggested weekly on this board. You’re reading too much in to the “tone” of my post (and you’ve also misquoted me) - I was just stating facts.

Odd to come on here and single the post out, especially when Marcal was absolutely terrible.

We’re being linked with Carlos Salcedo.

28 year old CB who plays for Tigres UANL in Mexico. Nearly 50 caps for the Mexican national side alongside Raul.

Saiss has previously had some poor games at CB for us before becoming excellent this season. Marcal had a knock and it was only 45 minutes, I'm not going to write him off in the LCB position just yet

Everybody has poor games, not sure Saiss has that many, pretty reliable imo, Marcal looked uncomfortable the whole time he was on today.

Big no to Salcedo. He's not very good and he's a twat.

Not writing him off. I just don’t think a player of his physical stature will succeed in our team in this league as a CB

If we had a powerful CB alongside him or someone a bit more physical at LB then we could get away with it, but we don’t. We’re also not very big in the rest of the team

Marcal was positionally challenged for he first 15 mins. He was in the wrong place on all three of their early chances and had done a crocodile Dundee for McGoldrick effort half stopped by Ruddy. I was happy to try it out but it filled me with little confidence

🚨 | Wolves and Newcastle are interested in signing Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile.

🐺 Wolves are also interested in Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car.

I know nothing about either of them, apart from we were linked with caleta-car in summer too.

Video says we are unlikely to spend a huge sum, so I’d imagine definitely rules Badiashile out?

DCC sure has been in and out and in and out and back in to the Marseille lineup a lot this season.

Anyone seen him play?

RE: Badiashile; he's surely going to one of the big boys. Although I'm sure Newcastle will try to throw an insane amount of cash at him.

If rumours from last week are to be believed we already offered €30m

Given that Newcastle are being mentioned in the same breath though I wonder if this is some kind of leverage play to try to get Lille to reconsider their stance on Botman (probably not by us)

Newcastle are going to throw disgusting sums at players who will have even less of an impact than Joelinton, and it is going to be quite hilarious to watch

More probably-nonsense links to Aaron Ramsey. Wants out of Juve to get playing time before the World Cup, it seems.

Dunno why we're the ones put up as a landing spot. Maybe because the media think we'll be selling Neves to United.
