January 2021 Transfer Window

I think he'd be ideal for us, someone to hit and play off, decent with the ball and not particularly slow.

Wages would have to make sense of course

He isn't going to come here for less than a third of his current pay is he, and even that is way way way too much for what he is.

Well he isn't going to be earning 250k a week in China for much longer. Bringing in a 55k a week wage cap

Does that apply to existing contracts? I couldn't find any answers either way.

His current contract expires in 2022

I imagine the Chinese government don't give a toss about contract law and could very well implement it immediately.

We'd probably pay him more than £55k a week and he would be playing in a much better league. So it wouldn't surprise me if he's on our 24 man short list.

I wonder if we'd go for someone like Sander Berge or Jack O'Connell in Jan. Sheffield United are basically down already and those 2 seem like 'Nuno' style players, especially Berge.

We were linked with George Baldock in the last window, weren't we? Not sure we would retain an interest in him at this point with Semedo/Hoever & young pup Luke in the background all capable of playing that position. I quite like him (Baldock), though.

I don't think Berge is any better than what we've got.

I quite like Berge, similar to Donk with added drive and goals.

I don't see how Baldock is an improvement on Semedo/ Hoever/ Jonny and probably not much better than Burr.

Did his hammy last night didn’t he?

He's definitely out for a game or two according to Wilder.

Berge has 6 senior goals in 140 odd appearances (most of them being in an average league). I don't mind him as a player but I wouldn't say he "adds goals".

Agree re; Baldock. We're alright in that position now.

O'Connell did his ACL and is out for the season.

O'Connell is excellent, I'd have him here if he can recover well from his injury.

Berge is good, might be better in a deeper position for us but I'd worry we'd use him in a similar way to Donck.

Nuno:
"Unfortunately, we had a huge situation that put one of our important players out for some time with a serious situation,"

"What happened to Raul is difficult and that's why I'm not happy with the balance of the squad. I think we need to rebalance the squad."

Sensible

Sell Adama now? Buy Huntelaar? One of these may have an element of truth....

I think it's more likely just the way Nuno phrases things. You could read rebalance as player(s) in and out. More likely just 'wim need a forward doe we our kid'
