January 2020 transfer window

Good to see Kelloggs entering the football rumour market.

€45m though. That's a lot to spend on a player not a lot of us have heard of

Still can't see whether those accounts are reliable. Never heard of the player, goal record looks underwhelming considering he's listed as an attacking midfielder.

His brother was a cracking wonderkid on fm17. Here my knowledge ends

Quick google sees the English Bundesliga site calling him "Werder's answer to Toni Kroos".

Assume that must be high praise.

Fifa has him as 80, must be good...

I’d never heard of most of the players we sign anymore, obviously excluding full internationals like Donk, Rui and Joao. But Cutrone, Vallejo, Neto, Boly, Jota, Neves, Jonny, nope none of them.

Haven’t played football manager in years and don’t play FIFA. I’m never going to watch Serie A or Bundesliga so you’re never going to see them play. The same goes for the majority of people but people get carried away about players just because they’ve seen them on FIFA and their obligatory YouTube video.

Players are going for loads of money these days despite being useless. Wesley snd Joelinton for example.

I'm with you. Everyone that's linked these days seems to be greeted with almost universal jubilation and I'm sat there not having a clue who these people are. Never quite sure if it's me being out of touch with the globalisation of the modern game or people getting carried away with the sort of backdoor knowledge from games, or maybe just baseless enthusiasm.

Think in the Fosun era there's only been Traore and Moutinho I really had any knowledge of as players. Few others like Bennett, Boly, Patricio and Cutrone that I'd heard of or seen their names on TV coverage but couldn't really tell you anything about them apart from their club or position. Generally they're just irrelevant names to me though, had no clue why people were so excited about the likes of Jota or Neves, they weren't on my radar at all.

Someone on Twitter reports release fee as €32.4m - about £28m. Interesting that one of the scouting sites on YouTube has Ruben Neves listed under 'similar players.' Apparently Max Egg covers an average 12.1km per game - one of the highest figures in the league. Cue cliches: box to box midfielder, good engine etc etc

And to think my mother-in-law thought the world spun around her. I'll have to tell her she's wrong.

Max Egg definitely happening. Can't get more proof than this

Laut Außenreporter Stefan M. wurde der Berater von Eggestein heute in der Frühe am Bremer Flughafen gesehen [@Legendeoriginal]

His adviser was seen at 'early this morning at Bremen Airport.'

I'm happy about signing a new player with an Egg related name. It's been a long time since we've shelled out on a player we can make egg related jokes about.

The last egg we had was a bad one. If we can poach him from his current club it could be a good signing.

You'd genuinely never heard of Ruben Neves or Patrick Cutrone before they signed for us?

I hadn't heard of Cutrone, had a vague awareness of Neves but that is all. I don't watch much football outside of Wolves and the occasional premier league match. Since European games went on BT I don't watch them either.

No as I don’t play Fifa or FM and I’ve watched a grand total of zero Liga Nos game ever. (He barely played anyway even If I did)

Porto vs Tel Aviv and Kyiv isn’t high on my CL watching list.

Same goes for Cutrone. Don’t watch Serie A and certainly wouldn’t remember a guy who had scored 3 league goals the year before anyway if I did. And Ac milan vs Olympiacos on a Thursday night doesn’t get me excited either.

You'd genuinely never heard of Ruben Neves or Patrick Cutrone before they signed for us?

No me neither. I don't play FIFA or football manager and like what Tredman says, I haven't watched European games since ITV lost the rights. Even then I'd only watch matches of English clubs.

You'd genuinely never heard of Ruben Neves or Patrick Cutrone before they signed for us?

Nope.

We only have english games in the bar.
We are not allowed to show La Liga, for fear of police / movistar reprisals.

When I was at home if I watched football every day I would probably have been divorced now.

I chose my battles for Football wisely every Wolves game and Sunday after noon prem matches.

I do google players when they are linked however I do not base my opinion on them via Google.

Neves and Jota did get me excited mainly due to their champions league appearances, and not celticesq champions league appearances.

Most of the players we are linked with now I have no fucking clue.
