January 2020 transfer window

Hard to see anything of what he's actually like in that video. One or two good finishes and the rest was just tap-ins and zero defenders near him.

Might need a new lwb. People speculating Jonny is off because he isn't in the 2020 calendar.

Our fans :icon_lol:

Was asked a couple of times this month where someone might be able to buy a Wolves calendar. Pointed out the official club store, but told them not to bother, whilst explaining the curse of the football team calendar...

More Cutrone rumours floating around, this time Torino. I'm beginning to wonder if this is agent lead?

When you analyse the transfer you’ve got to question the logic. He’s not a like for like for Raul so what was he bought in for? To play in a 2 with Raul?

He’s very desperate to play off the last man, but he doesn’t really have the pace to do that like someone like Vardy does. We are trying to get him to come deep and hold the hall up like Raul does but his first touch is often poor. His flicks have been Ok but realistically thats only going to work in counter attacking situations with teams throwing me forward. He’s not particularly physical to win the long balls or disrupt CBs.

I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but he’s doesn’t really suit our game at all 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Seems a bit of a 4-4-2 poacher but even in the game time he has had he’s squandered plenty of good opportunities, however I appreciate with limited game time it’s difficult.

Wouldn’t be massively against trying to get our money back and reinvest in Jota (II). But also wouldn’t mind if we persevere and see if we can adapt his game. £20m or whatever it was isn’t a massive loss

Given what Nuno and his team have done with Coady, Doherty, Traore etc, I'd be happy to invest the time in Cutrone. But I'd be equally prepared to believe he is simply homesick. If he goes we've clearly got a replacement lined up

I don't think Nuno trusts him or Neto the amount we need him to be able to. He made some comments re the latter after the Norwich game which weren't overly complimentary about him thus far, although he said he's improving so there's hope there. I'm sure he'd like to be in a position where he feels he can mix it up on a Thursday and Sunday, but doesn't feel he can with the options he currently has. His small squad ethos is dependent on everyone in it being able to come in and have an impact

The Sheffield United game was the one that made me think he'd lost confidence in them. Braga on a bog of a pitch on the Thursday night, West Ham on the Wednesday yet no substitutions.

He's more of a Pukki style player with his movement and runs. We just don't use him that way too often and he hasn't had any kind of run of games and usually plays with Neto than Jota.

To be fair Nuno is never over effusive in praise, about all he ever says of Adama this season is that he is progressing well but has a lot more to do.

He could just be homesick and that's obviously going to affect his game, but having said that the videos wolves put up he seems to be popular and fitting in,so who knows? We can't all be like our man in Bulgaria who changes countries and continents like the rest of us change socks with no adverse effects

Cutrone will play one of these two games - he has a tough job with Raul ahead of him and I hope we are patient

He doesn’t trust anyone outside the first 11 bar Saiss and to an extent Vinagre/Kilman. But this is exactly where we were last year, and the summer was supposed to be when we would bring in 3 or 4 top draw players.

Now Cutrone could have been one of them but none of the other players had any real pedigree. It’s amazing that we’ve done so well given the circumstances. From reading between the lines, I’d say Fosun were unwilling to back Nuno in the summer (quotes like “we need to be strong in the market”). Then further quotes from him and Jeff suggest they have realised the mistake and are going to try and get some business done. Nuno wanted a small squad but not a small squad lacking quality depth.

We can’t make the same mistake twice because our luck will run out/ players will run out of steam and the massive opportunity we saw in the summer to break into the top 4/6 is still there so we still need the 2 or 3 quality players we missed out on in the summer.

Can't help feeling a lot of the above comments are too negstive and far too impatient. He isn't Raul but I feel he does have some of his attributes and given time will come good.
If we do get rid, not sure what kind of player we can replace him with, you've gotta be looking at spending 30-40 million and do we want to spend that kind of cash for an impact player and someone who is going to spend a fair amount of time on the bench. If we are spending big money, I'd rather look at a Moutinho cover/future replacement

I think our challenge with forwards isn't dissimilar to the one Spurs had over a number of years with Kane. Essentially you are signing a player who if they are being realistic will know barring injury and potentially rotation they are coming to be back up to Jimenez. To find someone to do that with the quality required and the trust Nuno needs to have in them is a difficult fit.

Personally I don't think Cutrone is far off on the quality element, is short on the Nuno trust part and IF his agent is stirring then possibly not happy with the role aspect.

90% of the team must suffer from homesickness judging by how many head straight to the airport after a game to spend their day off in Portugal/Italy/Spain etc.

cutrone will be fine, hes not getting minutes and still hasnt adjusted to our style, hes a year older than vinagre ffs.

really hoping for a strong, athletic central midfielder with an all round game.

We can't all be like our man in Bulgaria who changes countries and continents like the rest of us change socks with no adverse effects
we dont all have the luxury of being born in a first world country with friends and family to help us out

Thought you'd said before you'd done it all yourself with no help from anyone, because that's just what you do,and swapping countries and continents is no big deal, footballers should just man up and get on with it,they get paid enough
