January 2020 transfer window

I wouldn’t sell him for £80m - he’s got the potential to be a real game changer at the highest level - we can’t buy players like that, we have to develop them - I’d hate him to move on before he helps us really progress

This. Said he was a bargain when we bought him.
Same with Neto. Lots more to come from him too.

No way would I sell Adama, he is capable of things that other players just can't do.

We don't know where is ceiling is, he's a special player.

He's what I wanted Tony Daley to be only a million times better

Spot on mate, and he's gonna get better IMO I predict a massive career for him. Nice guy too

I'm looking forward to seeing Jordao progress now.

Think he could be a good option in time.

For £80m I'd drive him to Barcelona (but not Liverpool, it's a doss hole).

From an FFP standpoint alone it's a no brainer.

Sky Sports have just laid out the players Spurs bought after selling Bale. Most left Spurs without making a dent, only Erickson and Lamalla (to a much lesser extent) contributed much. A near £60 million profit might look good on the balance sheet and FPP but a few rank signings and suddenly it can all disappear.

Embarrassing.

This is the flip side of the forum where the “glass half full” posters look like smug idiots.

Good news on Podence. Hope he’s not the only arrival this week.

My comment was aimed at Twitter (if you care to read the posts beforehand with regards to reactions on Twitter) however, if you're feeling guilty about something...

look, if there's one thing I can for sure say about traore...

it's that he has a good mind for skittle separation strategy

On his way

I don't want to sell him. Its just a fact that if that sort of money is being offered he would go. Why? Because at that money he is going to be off to a champions league club with a chance of winning trophies which we , at present are not. Yes we are close but don't forget that our owners are astute financial managers and the huge profit 80m for Adama would bring would certainly be attractive. At present I think I am realistic in that if silly money is offered for big stars then it may well be accepted. Champions Leicester couldn't keep Kante when Chelsea came a knocking so 7th Place Wolves may be in a similar boat should a big gun come for Adama. Its a fact of the modern game. We are not a member of the big six.

Think your reaction to a twitter rumour was more embarrassing

The only reason to sell young, improving players is if we have a replacement(s) lined up who would improve us overall. Or if we are in financial trouble. Doesnt make any sence to sell anyone atm regardless of money

We don’t want to be selling players that are irreplaceable at this stage of our development unless the player is forcing a move . The money is great but with our squad lacking so much depth as it is, selling out best players takes us from top 4 candidates to mid table fodder.

Next year after some decent squad strengthening, it might be beneficial to sell Neves if we have a small drop off in the squad and the ability to sign a replacement. But if we did that now, it would be a massive backward step for the club.

Exactly !

A short-term financial gain that would/could be wiped out if we slipped to mid-table.
