You are wrong if you think that I'm particularly pro-Lage. I just feel that all last season he was hands tied. There are many posts that say the last 3 windows were crap so he was tied to the players he inherited and they were familiar with a back 3 system. I think that he will have identified the positions that needed improvement and whilst he may or may not have identified the actual players we subsequently bought in I'm sure he would've had a substantial input. I don't like the crap that he spouts but take the Sasa injury for eg. The medics that attended him on the pitch allowed him to play for another 5 or so minutes so that was what would've been conveyed to Lage who then spoke of the injury in less serious terms. In my opinion the true test of his abilities has only just been able to be viewed and not the previous 44 games. Even then he is lacking a striker, Raul unfortunately continues to be chronically fatigued (as opposed to groin strain), we were unlucky with Sasa but maybe that was predictable given his previous injuries and Costa is going to have a limited impact for some time. I just feel it's a 'be careful what you wish for' situ.

I see what you're saying but I'd counter that Lage isn't the cliched safe pair of hands who merely doesn't have the tools to take us to another level.

It was seen last season he couldn't arrest our slide in individual games or down the table after Christmas when things stopped dropping our way and revertted to the mean, this was without us having to look over our shoulders.

With that pressure added the crap he spouts, the throwing of players under the bus and rifts only become bigger problems.

In both his jobs he had a great start, followed by a terrible run which he was unable to turn around.

Because he treats his players like crap, once the rot sets in, he has nowhere to go apart from leaving.

I’d get rid today and get mouts to hold the fort till JL is here. Mouts could not do worse than zero and at least he wouldn't piss off the players or spout the crap.

That suggests you think things could get worse under a new manager. I genuinely don’t think there’s anyone that we would realistically want that could do a worse job. We aren’t going to be appointing a nutcase like Zenga and even Lambert would be better than Lage, though we will get someone far better.

I @Bigbadwulf07 for his caution, so I just want to reassure him that by watching Wolves since 1984 and having the pleasure of sitting quite near Mr Lage every home game, I’ve taken every possible precaution before wishing I never see or hear from him again.

Although I agree with you, you also have to remember as we have already employed Zenga, Lambert and Lage so saying we wont do as bad again should be viewed with a touch of scepticism

Zenga was a panic and pretty much done based on who Mendes had in his phone who was available. Lambert was a decent appointment all told, steadied the ship post the Zenga chaos and binned once his usefulness ran out. He's also the only 1 of the 4 appointed through a proper search of the options

I've probably not watched Sevilla since they battered us, are they really that boring under him these days? They were so dominant and front footed against us! Appreciate it was a fair while ago, but the reports that he's basically a Spanish Nuno don't tally with my memory of how he plays football

Boring as fuck.

I think there were certain parallels with Nuno even against us, we were completely tanked and were defending our 18 yard line in that game but they didn't really carve us open, they were deserved winners no shadow of a doubt but they weren't brilliant on the night (didnt need to be) although individually Suso was exceptional.

Ever Banega was their best player that night for me.

Raul's penalty really took the wind out of our sails, I do think we win that game if he scores it.

Hey ho.

Loses his CF against Leeds, doesn't replace him, leaves 2 Wide Forwards on the pitch, the ball comes back time and time again, doesn't change it. We lose
This was totally unforgivable, it still boils my piss that he did nothing for ages, what was he thinking.

On the up side ‘down with Bruno, we’re going down with Bruno’ scans really well.
