How long has Corbyn got left?

I don't know your age, I don't know you but... You have vote Labour all your life (apart from 2005) but you aren't "left" or "socialist"??

1992 and Kinnock was the first year I voted aged 19, I would describe myself as both left leaning and borderline socialist. I would also say I hate the Tories and right thinking more than I support the above. To get rid of the Tories you need to be electable, a traditional socialist platform won't do that irrespective of how much you individually support it. Blair won 3 GE's he enacted liberal policies the Tories wouldn't have done as per the Twitter thread above. Your policies are ultimately irrelevant in opposition, whilst the Tories enact theirs in Government.

FWIW I don't think the Labour manifesto was particularly tested at the GE. Brexit, Corbyn hatred and uncosted additions such as Waspi pensioners meant they weren't really debated

So we can move on from your assumption that I am "the deluded left" then just because I supported the main policies which really we not the problem.
This election, Corbyn's inability to debate (including all through May's run as PM) was a real negative as was his persona but persona and policies were what helped him ALMOST snatch an unlikely election victory in 2017. If Scotland hadn't totally fucked up their campaign in 2017 May wouldn't have got in.

I want an effective Labour Party with policies that are not alien to the ideals of the Labour Party

Yep. Agreeing with austerity and benefit cuts is fine if that floats your boat but you don't get to do that and call yourself 'centre'left'. Starmer made some very reassuring noises on that yesterday. He's smart enough to recognise that the game has changed and it isn't 1994 anymore.

There is a difference between the policies not being debated and them being electorally popular though. What I said was they weren't tested because Brexit and Corbyn were enough for swathes of people to not vote Labour. That doesn't mean they would have been popular, just that they weren't tested.

Saying someone is pro austerity and benefit cuts because they want a Labour Party the country will elect is some reach. I agree Starmer could be the man, I'd be surprised if he's elected though, it'll be Long-Bailey because she'll be seen as the continuity candidate by those who don't believe Corbyn was the issue

So, because I'm a member of the Labour Party I'm "far left" not just a "socialist" then? Rather be labeled as that then as an uncaring, money grabbing, "I'm alright Jack fuck the poor and needy" Tory fuck-knuckle

And there's your issue right there. You want your ideology but anybody else that doesn't agree is a Tory.

It's simplistic childlike nonsense and the type of idiotic garbage that will see your ideology binned for a decade.

I'm saying that Labour accepted austerity in 2010 and this continued until Corbyn was elected in 2015. I don't want a return to that nonsense in order to seem 'credible'.

I was wrong on the Welfare Bill - they abstained:

If Starmer stands I won't be voting for RLB and I say that as someone who voted for Corbyn twice. I'm not the only Corbyn voter who feels that way. I'm not sure it will be the RLB shoe-in many think it will.

Yep, i'm the same. If Starmer stands I think I will be going for him (and i voted for Corbyn twice too).

The Momentum "control" is a bit of a red herring, of the 450k-550k (depending who you talk to) members, there are *only* 40k Momentum members.

I backed RLB at 34/1 2 years ago to be the next leader, so at least i stand to make a few quid if she does win.

Agreed. Another centrist myth. Along with these gems:

'Labour is the party of holocaust denial' - James O'Brien
Corbyn is responsible for everyone on social media
Corbyn wants No Deal and secretly voted Leave
All the members are Communists, Trots and Stalinists

I'd cash out now - in the straw poll of members on here nobody is voting for her. Starmer all the way for me and I never voted for Jezza.

Meanwhile Seamus Milne and Karie Murphy sign new £90k a year contracts to carry on their job of losing elections on a spectacular basis.

Need to make sure Starmer actually confirms he is going to stand first, if he does then i will.

You see Johnny, I love our chats and interaction but that is NOT what I have said in my comment, rather that I would rather be socialist than hard right tory... I didn't mention anything about any other ranks of the political spectrum.

You really need to read the words I write and not try to read between any perceived lines
