Grimsby v Wolves 4th Round FA Cup 15/02/26

Grimsby brings back lots of 90’s memories as they were a pretty solid second tier club. Still remember them holding us to a draw in 1997 after Barnsley had left the door slightly ajar for us the night before.
Cracking goal for them by a lad who went to Everton who I can’t think of at the minute.

Andre available. Listening and looking to Edwards I suspect @Tony Towner correctly diagnosed the ‘injury’ last weekend.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned already but Grimsby purchased the famous original Molineux floodlights (of Honved fame etc) in the 60s and they are still there today. Shame it’s not an evening game!

They replaced them in 2019

It's genuinely quite a big game for Edwards. He's getting a degree of a free pass in the league as we're objectively outgunned in terms of quality in every position by everyone else in the division other than Burnley, but if he loses to a fourth tier team, it's going to look very bad.

Agree on this lose this and lose a lot of sympathy and good will he’s still getting. Win this and go out to another pl side he saves face.

There's a chance to go on a cup run if we win this one. Already four teams into the next round from a lower division, get one of those at home and there's a good chance to be in the QF again.

At the very least it fosters some positivity, which with how bad we are in the league Edwards desperately needs.
