Booooooo, fell short.

Can't really argue with the winners though.

Averages at 3:

Viv: 3508 runs @ 61.54
Lara: 3749 runs @ 62.36
Tendulkar: Never batted at three

All rounder:

Jacques Kallis
Chris Cairns
Shakib Al Hasan

J. Kallis
S Waugh
B. Stokes

Never saw the best of Dev, Khan or Botham sadly.

Likewise on the latter three.

Steve Waugh was brilliant, again though his bowling days were largely done by my time.

You are quoting Brian Lara's strike rate at 3 rather than average of 60.47.

Viv has the best average at 3 (61.54) Sachin at 4 (54.40) and 5 (59.69). Lara's average at 5 was just 41.23 as opposed to 51.26 at 4. Line up so far is below.

World XI so far....

1. M Hayden
2. G. Smith
3. V. Richards
4. B Lara
5. S.Tendulkar

Jacques Kallis

Shaun Pollock

Shakib Al-Hasan

Hadlee
Kallis
Botham

Hadlee, whilst first and foremost a bowling all rounder took 431 wickets at 22! 22! 6 however is too high to bat him. So the keeper would get the six spot if Sir Richard wins. He won't.

Do we really need Kallis's ridiculous batting stats at 6 or do we need more of a front line bowler and pick Warne and Murali?

Khan
Kallis
Botham

If you want an all rounder with the best balanced stats it's Khan. 38 with the bat, 23 with the ball.

Hadlee was a tremendous bowler, but that's what he was really despite being a dangerous lower order batsman. Can't get in this side with an average of 27.
