He'd rather cover Walsall than wolves?

I don't want to sound like an arrogant wolves fan, but why on earth would you choose to do that?

Ah, I can't write any more mate, I think I'm done. I'm too messed up, I look back at my old stuff and think "who the fuck wrote that", because it isn't me. I've said "one more go" for a while but nothing ever happens, you get a few paragraphs and I chuck it because it's shite.

Never say never but I'd be surprised if I did anything again.

The only credible reason would be abuse. Spiers tweets a lot less than he used to because of it, I assume Joey gets his fair share aswell. It must grind you down.

Still more likely they've relegated him for not being very good though

Timbo brought it upon himself on Twitter (not that I condone it or would do it myself). Don't tweet like an absolute moron when you're in that position FFS.

Office - "Joe, you can bugger off to Walsall or you're fired."

Twitter - "I'm excited for this new opportunity...."

Anyways, we need to get to work on a TWF exclusive "hilarious" name for Liam

What with the surname he must be very excited to be covering his boyhood club.

I suppose it will be Keano?
How about instead of Yamyam, call him YamLiam?

Neither could those guys but it didn't stop them *ROFL*.

I do get it though, you'd want to do yourself justice rather than churning stuff out for the sake of it. You'd have to reconcile that sometimes you'd have to phone it in because that's what the job needs.

Granted, they were playing against Martinique who had tired by the time he came on, but he looked decent. Certainly has the physical tools about him.

Got to watch Emmanuel Riviere (no longer a French international, shocker of shockers) scuff a goal and look otherwise totally useless, too. Real blast from the past, that.
He’s not physically ready for the premier league, he was out of his depth in that sense against spurs in the small time he had. I do like him, so hopefully (if Bruno likes him) he is drip fed some senior minutes

I agree he's not ready for the PL yet but he is a good prospect. And playing alongside Alphonso Davies (of Bayern) and Johnathan David (of Lille) in the Canadian national team will help his development. He could well make the first team in a couple of years, he's still young.

Joey E&S has been sent to cover Walsall
Pay peanuts and all that, the papers been on its arse for years, these kids are on minimum wage salaries.

He's not particularly gifted with his literature output though, even the low bar that local journalism has reached these days, not that I am either. He writes at the same level as a 12 year old boy and I am unable to read his articles without having to make the sounds in my head akin to Lennie of mice and men.

I won't miss his match ratings either, where not knowing what to give a player they automatically received a 7, except Saiss who always started on a 5.

There’s still a generation who buy the E&S. My parents have had it delivered for the last 40 years and with them not really using the internet treat what they read in it as gospel.

Joey was definitely the worst of a bad bunch, feel for him though as he should never have been put in the role.

From the little I’ve seen, read or heard from him Keen seems better.

I think Freelance Rosie was worse. Never made any effort at all to understand how the team played and had a weird vendetta against Saiss. Shite on social media too.

She still managed to write better than a small child though, admittedly the content was nonsense.

I can't say I've read much of Keens output, I do know that Joey was/is completely winging it, I know an ex-tutor of his who said he was pretty much bottom of the class, which is a positive as if he was a leading light then our education system would need overhauling.

As a 'Wolves fan turned Wolves correspondent' I can only imagine the sheer joy he is feeling at his new challenge of watching Walsall every week.

He had a weird thing with Traore and Neves match ratings, Neves was always 1 below everyone else and Traore was always 1 higher.

Rosie could have been a decent journalist but not on football which she demonstrated a failure to grasp even the most basic understanding of how we played.

Spiers is annoying in as much as he *can* write fairly competently but instead chooses to magpie styles off other people and it comes across terribly. It's so obviously forced and it's a dreadful read. He's leagues below anyone else at The Athletic bar Carl Anka (another absolute chancer). His opinions are frequently really poorly thought through as well.

I'd like us to have a good reporter, it would be a nice thing to have.

Obviously Johnny Phillips has bigger fish to fry but I like the odd piece he does here and there for the paper. Also, even allowing for the fact that the club were paying him so he couldn't go in two footed, you could see him getting steadily more bemused by the absolute drivel our E-List executive team were putting out in that AskWolves thing.
