General Wolves News

Tut tut, need to revise your Highway code for essential information like that!!

Its one where you press a button and the lights change, a step up from a zebra!

Looks like I need to, they are apprently wider crossings than a pelican or peffin crossing, for pedestrians and bikes to cross, but yeah basically just a crossing. No bridge, thank god

Thanks for that. You’ll have to explain peffin crossings another day :)

The puffin crossing are the ones where you have to break into a brisk walk/slow jog because you've misjudged the lights and they get your heart rate and breathing up and you end up puffin

If it's a crossing then really don't want to be driving on the ring road when the game ends then - it's stop start with the existing lights so an added random set with a crossing (plus a load of fans who will ignore the lights being shown anyway) will be fun

Anyone with a young lad about 4-5 years old? I’ve got this years black away shirt you can have foc. It’s a 5-6 which has just been worn a couple of times but is immaculate but a little small for my 6 year old.

My son's five but he's got the away shirt.

Now if anybody happens to have an adult small away shirt they want to give away...

Yes please

No idea what a toucan crossing is btw.

It's like a pelican, or a puffin - except it is for bikes as well as pedestrians.

It's called that because, I kid you not, "toucan cross at once"...

Pelican are the original ones with the buttons and the lights the opposite side. Puffins are the newer ones with the pedestrian lights next to you.

The ones that are really rare are pegasus crossings. A button at the right height for pedestrians, and one up in the air for horse riders.

Extra points for anyone who knows what the heck a Panda crossing was.

Kind of Wolves related, but plans by the council confirmed for a new foot bridge over the ring road to the ground as an alternative to the subway

From the plans it looks to sit pretty much across the top of the Subway but runs on a slight angle to the left (if you imagine coming from town to the ground).

Personally I think one would have been better placed somewhere towards the bottom of North Street directly over so that it leads straight down the walk way to the left of the southbank (again if looking from town) but sure it will ease some congestion....when we're all finally back.

Sorry thought I'd deleted this after looking at it properly it is in fact a crappy crossing (couldn't be arsed to edit) complete waste of time really.

If anything it'll probably make it worse getting away, will no doubt causee a build up of people waiting for the lights which will also block people trying to get past to go to the subway from the Billy Wright side of the archives building.

Very short sighted, Imagine if they built a footbridge from by the church at the bottom of North street that went straight over and fed directly to the left (if facing the ground from town) of the archives building. Incorporate it with some sort of super pub / pre match thing at the civic (once open) would really spread people round to an area of town less used.

That would be so much better.

I had the Green Cross Man and later Charlie the Cat

But on the downside we had Rolf Harris teaching us to swim :)

Well I guess that would make you swim faster.
