General Wolves News

Guessing the players have been given some time off. Following Instagram Leo’s back in Brazil. Rafa Mir, Spain and Douglas has headed to the warmth of Glasgow.

Douglas will be up there anyway, he's in the Scotland squad.

Leo didn't hang around in getting back to Brazil. He posted that yesterday so must have flown out Saturday evening after the match!

Met Douglas on the train up north after the game on Saturday.

E&S predicting a rise in season ticket prices:

https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...2018/03/19/wolves-fans-face-tickets-scramble/

Don;t mind a slight rise in adult prices, but if my two kids season tickets rise by much I'll be screwed.

There is actually nothing in the minutes that Spiers has lifted that says there will be an increase. Now, there might well be, but that isn't what the minutes say.

Also scramble is a bit bollocks. Sure there is no early bird as far as we know, but there is plenty of time available for existing STH to renew before July, and then new applicants have a month (although I admit those last 1000 or so will go quickly).

Tim is making a few assumptions there from the minutes of a meeting his isn't invited to attend.

When i read the minutes my first thought was Laurie is setting this up for an increase. All the talk on pricing being set against who we are playing, who we are signing etc does point at an early nod at an increase. I can see why he has ran with that angle today.

Didn't realise the E&S don't attend, that's interesting.

I do think there will be a rise, but I hope its only a slight rise - we need to stay inline with Albion and Stoke really. The £23 season ticket for kids is amazing value, without that I'm sure we could increase revenue, but we could potentially lose a lot of young supporters - of which all clubs are very much in desperate need.

The scramble thing I guess only applies to people wanting new season tickets? The deadline to renew last season was July and they definitely be on sale before then.

The official minutes don't give this impression, but the bloggers version would suggest we are looking to pay The Money Shop off. May just be badly worded by him I guess, but here's hoping.

It's a fans parliament. You invite the local journo and he is going to want to ask all the questions to get headlines. Plus he would be obligated to publish before the minutes come out, whereas every attendee is required by the club not to so that. Also, without him there the powers that be let a load of off the record stuff out. No chance that happens with Timbo in the room.

I was more surprised that mol mix has a representative there

Sound good, you should start going again Paddy :fished:

Interesting. I read that as 'we signed a three-year deal so we're stuck with it'. I hope you're right.

I think if we could have bought our way out of it, we'd have done it last summer (using an inflated - without taking the piss - sponsorship deal from a satellite Fosun company to even further balance the books wrt FFP). It seems fairly watertight without pissing money away for no real reason.

It's our best selling shirt ever apparently so it just goes to show, if the team's winning, most people's moral objections go out of the window.

Wasn't too fussed the first year, as wouldn't have bought the pinstripe shirt anyway (unless it was a tenner at the end of the season). Got a very nice email when I complained, but having known people who have got in trouble with these pay day loan types including one who killed himself. Will never buy a shirt with either that or a gambling link. I get this season's shirt sold well, which is to be expected if somewhat disappointing, but I can't believe the might of FOSUN couldn't buy out the contract to promote one of their own brands?

Deutsch that's what I think and with a PL year's worth of international exposure for them the price would be high, but the quote from the article is:
Laurie: ‘The only thing we can say (on the main sponsor) is that they signed a three year deal (with Money Shop) so I can’t say any more than that at the moment.

The inference being that we are in discussions, but that's very much relying on my interpretation of the interpretation of a lad doing a blog, so not exactly watertight.

How many of the current 21k were half season tickets? And how many if them will renew to full ones in the summer? There will probably be a fee that don't.

We had about 15k in the Summer. The vast majority that bought in Jan will have done so with next year in mind.
