Yep. Leon Clarke and Rohan Ricketts on the scoresheet. What a time to be alive.

Why so few to Cardiff? It's only an hour away

Think that was my first real away game, previously I'd just tagged along with my dad a couple of times when he used to have his quest to have seen a game at every league club, went down with a couple of school mates on the coach and then were bored to death hanging around the ground until kick-off.

Remember coming away pretty optimistic for the following season and thinking we'd given them a bit of a dicking, then they went and waltzed to the title the following year didn't they?

Yep. I totally gave up on Hoddle when they completely played us off the park on Boxing Day, it was as much of a doing as we gave Villa last month.

Fair play. Reading is a shitehole and as an away day it has absolutely nothing to offer apart from the chance to watch Wolves.

A testament to Nuno, Fosun and what they're building here.

You mean you aren't into drinking in a Holiday Inn pre-game?

Was that around the time where Cardiff and Wolves fans had to be escorted to the stadiums following disturbances at fixtures between the teams. Didn't Wolves fans have to gather at a service station and be taken directly to Cardiffs ground. And the same applied when Cardiff played at Molineux.

It depends where you visit in Reading. Parts of the old town have a lot to offer, and there are many worse places in the world than Reading.

The problem is that the ground is miles away from the town centre let alone any other area. It's a case of piling onto a shuttle bus which isn't a great experience at all. There is nothing to do anywhere near the stadium.

As for Cardiff: yes, it may well have been a "bubble trip" still. Their fans were banned from Molineux in 2006/7 and I remember us briefly looking into going to the FA Cup game at Ninian Park in Feb 2008 before realising what a ridiculous hassle it would be.

You had to travel on Official Travel coaches from what I can remember. No tickets sold unless you purchased the travel. Police banned any Wolves fans who travelled any other way.
