General Wolves News

One of the crappy Wolves Facebook groups this week suggested Burton at home under Nuno as coldest ever. No way, it was very strange weather (all four seasons inside about an hour, and a third of the pitch dusted with snow while the rest was untouched) but it wasn't that cold.

Oldham tends to be in its own category but I'll nominate McGhee's first game at home to Port Vale in 1995. So cold that literally no-one was drinking outside the Goal Post pre-match.

And froze my nuts off watching! That match at Oldham was the coldest I've ever been at a match!
Was that one an evening game where we were in the enclosure along the side of the pitch? Odd place to go Oldham, remember going there in about 195 and everyone was frisked on the way in only to find lumps of concrete and a couple of broken bottles at the back of the terrace. We lost that one as well!

I dropped a cup of coffee during that Burton game, the hot contents froze in what seemed like seconds 🤣

Another one was Watford at home on New Year's Day 1991. Also one of the worst games of football I have ever seen at any level. Paul Cook was injured so we used Mike Stowell as our playmaker. 0-0.

First day of my birth year going super poorly for you feels right.

One that I always remember was away at Forest at Easter 1997 when they battered us 3-0 and it was bloody cold/bleak. The Europa game against Bohemians was the warmest I remember being at a match

Wigan at home on Boxing Day 2010 was the coldest I remember, temperature dropped to -14 that night. Game was terrible too was slightly eased by the fact England were destroying Australia in the ashes.
Preston on the opening day of the league 1 season was particularly hot at the front on the away end no shade and the sun beating right down on us, couple of fans nearby needed some first aid.

The 2-2 against Sheffield Utd when we came back from 2-0 down was pretty cold, although it might have just been the crapness of the game (until the final few minutes) that made it feel that way.

I want the following stat please.

Most time spent pointing and blaming others (aka the Paul Ince)

That should be a close one between Cunha, Sarabia, and Guedes. Though to give Guedes his due, he doesn't point and blame much, he just scowls and looks a miserable bastard. And that's when he's sitting on the subs bench. So Cunha and Sarabia then.

Might have been Halifax away in the late 80's as that was the coldest I've been. The wettest without doubt was at Blackpool for a night game when it was howling a gale. Absolutely soaked through.
