Nunes, Neves and Collins went in the same window for £120m or thereabouts. You could quibble with best obviously, but all sizeable transfer fees. Big dressing room personalities like Jimenez and Moutinho also left at the same time.

We are highly likely to lose our captain and best player, so that's 2 of the 3 already. They'll sell anyone if the price is right. If someone offers £40m for RAN and £50m for Gomes they'll be gone irrespective of who else has.

We’re hardly unique in this regard tbf. It’s just the replacements are either not very good or need more time to settle than we can really afford.

Traore did, Boly went the year before. Coady technically did, but also really left the year before.

I’m a bit baffled by that, though maybe I’ve not paid attention to the thread. These are two of our best players in the last 50 years, let alone at the time.

Moutinho barely played over the last few months of the season. 2 years before and the statement could be correct.

the reasons for this are current speculation. either lop, or jeff initiated something odd here. his disappearance is akin to emelia erharts imo!

Might as well get some use out of him as he's totally unequipped to play in a double pivot at this level. He'll be part of the squad next season whichever league we find ourselves in so we might as well find a role for him.

He's got a lot of quality on the ball so there's no reason why he couldn't play there really. The lack of pace and physicality is obviously an issue but not as much of one at 10 as it is at 6.

It the position in question involves running, it won’t be suitable.

That said, he can probably run faster and further than both Guedes and Sarabia, put together.
