Sadly I believe this European adventure for Hugo will seriously be a head turner. I don't think he'll want to come back in the summer. Unless he's forced to play he'll want out straight away and who can blame him.

This is what I think will happen. I don't see us selling Cunha & Joao Gomes in the same window - so I reckon we'll end up keeping Joao and RAN will be the other big sale. Then Hugo comes back in as first choice.

It would be disappointing if we sold 3 of our best players all in one go but I wouldn't put it past them.
I wonder if offers for RAN will be high enough to make it worth our while?

Having to replace Cunha, Gomes, RAN and Semedo would be horrendous and make it very likely we go down next season, especially as we already need at least one more forward. (Assuming we stay up this season)

When does RAN have a contract until? Gomes is 3 more years. We have to be making promises to these players that we won’t stand in their way if acceptable bids come in.

I don't think anyone offers what we want for Joao. And with Cunha almost certainly going early in the window, I think that allows us to be a bit more careful/strategic with sales. Someone will probably offer us £40m for RAN & that'll probably be enough to turn Jeffs head.

Hugo/Rodrigo/Lima is a reasonable start for the full back positions but I hope we can get a new deal with Nels thrashed out.
