If you put 10k on the gate at £50 per ticket, assuming we sell them and all those people spend a tenner (profit) while there on something or other then that's about an extra £12m a season. It's not really that much in the grand scheme of things, meanwhile that's cost you something in the region of £200m in the first place whilst you also don't own the land it's on. Like being the new Manchester City it's another of Shis boasts which doesn't stand up to scrutiny

I don't think that's been the case thus far, the post match stuff as ridiculous as it shows frustration, a lack of direction and discipline, but not caring. Cunha by accounts did have one on him on Saturday though, although it's guesswork as to why.

Could well happen over the next few months though if and when relegation becomes a formality.

Yup, they wanted a new multi purpose venue that operated 7 days a week with revenue from non-football activities the primary income scheme. Their primary interest when buying Wolves was not the football club, it was opportunities a football club gave them.

Before Fosun were announced, I happened to be in a meeting with Jez Moxey - he spoke about the new owners without naming them. He described a vision they had which has not been realised.

I don't think this will happen, but if the ticket price rise was a precursor to building a new stadium and there would not be a sudden increase in prices because they have normalised the current price...that might make sense. But there is no indication this is on the cards.
 
I think part of it is the risk. If Fosun had funded a new ground / development then they simply had to keep wolves in the PL for it to make sense.

Relegation now is bad, but imagine the impact when they've just spunked £200m on a new ground. They'd be commited to spending whatever it took to keep wolves in the PL. Also against a back drop of china not being into football anymore it wouldn't really make sense.

On a tangent to that I thought it was interesting in the JP piece that Shi rarely goes to games and spends his time on Esports. It's not something I really understand, but I don't think it delivers much from a financial perspective, but if it does give cache within China then that would help to explain their perceived lack of interest in the football club. It's now given the leverage needed and at some point the brand in that arena stands on its own two feet irrespective of the teams performance.

Not a like for like example, but if I hear Red Bull Racing I don't immediately associate it with the energy drink, the same when the Sky cycling team was a thing under Brailsford. They become stand alone entities outside of their parentage.
 
Its new though, he was pretty much at every game up to the back end of last season
 
I get artistic licence. But that article isn't really telling the story is it. We have sold 6 players that fit the idea of buy-low sell high, and that is over a 6 year span so you can hardly call that a mentality.

Especially when you add the Nunes deal was great business to sell an expensive asset that hadn't really worked for us.
 
The article is complete nonsense. Yes there is a lack of Fosun investment. Yes the transfer policy has been shit.

Last I looked, the transfer policy wasnt leaving men unmarked at the far post on every set piece, and delivering wins as rare as hen's teeth.

The manager paid the price for being such an incompetent that it outweighed his usefulness as a yes man patsy.
 
Patsy is accurate, he was there to soak up all the negativity and be a buffer for Hobbs and Shi. Always going to be the first to go. Hobbs will be next if things become even more dire and the Fosun Out chants get louder. Shi will only go when they do.

To be honest, there’s a lot here that I agree with. Prior to Gaz’s sacking, there were issues at all levels of the club -

Owners > Chairman > Manager > Coaches > Playing Staff

All of the above are responsible for where we find ourselves.

I do agree with the article, in that it feels like the majority of the squad are just playing for their next big move. The togetherness of the squad that we had under Nuno feels a world away. The pride in the shirt - the pride of being someone/something and creating a ‘moment’, just isn’t here. You get the odd anomaly like JSL - but most of the current playing squad I’d be happy to never see pull the shirt on again.

Gaz was of course a fundamental issue and has paid for it with his job - I don’t think he’ll ever get a bigger one. However, for me, if Fosun genuinely aren’t looking to sell the club and have ambitions to stay in the PL, they have to make a move to replace Jeff Shi with someone else sooner rather than later. So many of our recent issues/problems stem from him. Now we hear he barely attends a match - and is more interested in turning up to eSports events. If Fosun as a group, truly want to keep us in the PL - they have to replace Jeff Shi ASAP.

Hopefully most of the squad gets gutted in the summer if we do go down and then we can start to rebuild with some players who actually want to be here and actually want to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers. And no, this isn’t me making excuses for Gaz - he was absolutely clueless and should have been sacked months ago - but the players, Jeff Shi, Fosun - as far as I’m concerned they can all get in the sea.

We definitely need to do that rebuild without Jeff Shi being in his current role.
 
I think that while it may not be the primary reason for our decline, there is likely something in it in terms of the mentality of the playing squad. "Come to Wolves, do well and you'll get a big move". The incentive is for the players to perform well individually, not for the benefit of the team. I get that if they are playing well, it most likely helps the team, but that isn't always the case. Cunha has mostly played well, the team has been shit. He'll still get his big money move regardless. He'll not care what happens to the club once he's gone. The whole idea of 'The strength of the pack is in the Wolf, the strength of the Wolf is in the pack' goes out of the window and becomes 'The strength of the Wolf is in the wolf'.
 
I think it’s easy to interpret some poor performances as not playing for the team but I’m not convinced it’s quite as clear cut. My view is that what we’ve witnessed is players who have had poor direction from GO and they’ve being asked to play in a way that makes the whole team disjointed. Much of it stems from asking the central midfield to cover too much ground and that weakness then causes ripples throughout the rest of the team. Throw in RAN popping up all over the place and selecting Bellegarde, Rodrigo and Forbs who are miles short of PL quality and it’s collapsed like a pack of cards.

I don’t believe Gomes, Lemina and most of the others don’t care, they’re just frustrated by a succession of defeats. Likewise Cunha who has started to try and take on the opposition single-handed. Whoever comes in needs to ensure that whatever tactics he chooses the players are capable of delivering.
