General Wolves News

'Finally, in recent years we have made a lot of long-term investments into young talent that may not play for our first-team immediately, and those investments increase our asset value in the balance sheet but impact our profit and loss, especially in a net investment phase.'

Is he talking about Silva, Hoever etc here?
It’s a fairly blanket statement isn’t it, covering your likes of silva/hoever (who cost money and are kids) to academy players breaking through who have recently been signed (could relate to hodge, cundle, bueno, Fraser) to your Mosquara’s, Chiquinhos (not kids but still not known.

It’s just a mash of words, with no real meaning. Mentions ‘long term investments into young talent’ investment could be anything from money, to time, to facilities.

Just such a garbled letter where lots of words are used to say absolutely sod all

Doesn't FFP change to clubs only being able to spend 70% of their income or something
So I keep hearing but I’ve not seen anything official and not bothered to look.

But if that is the case then why does he say

“The positive thing is that FFP is based on a rolling number, season by season, so if we do manage it well this summer, next summer we will be more free financially.”

SPEAK TO US JEFF....STOP HIDING

NOT LIKE THAT!! SAY OTHER WORDS

Anyone expecting anything other than vague bollocks clearly hasn't been paying attention to post Covid Jeff.

This letter wouldn't have been needed if Jeff hadn't slapped about with strategies every minute. One second we're buying players with potential for 15-20 million and bringing in a few bargains, the next it's spaffing 30-40 million quid on players.

There's no consideration of risk (or reward) buying a player like Nunes at 40 million doesn't leave much headroom for profit - I'd be amazed if we make a profit on him when he leaves. I'm not digging Nunes out here BTW, the same applies to Semedo, Fabio, Cunha...

Any of us who’ve worked in major organisations will have seen similar statements from the higher levels, just full cliche, self repeating but clarifying the square root of nothing.

Don't think the people complaining about his statement were bothered about hearing from him at all, as he never says anything worth the bother.

Our long term strategy is to make sure we maximise as many sales opportunities as possible whilst simultaneously driving down costs within the business.

Come on folk, where's your challenger attitude.

Wage bill has to be 80% of total revenue this season. Next season it goes down to 70%.

We aren't in any trouble with that with the recent squad reductions going off the wage bill.

Let’s be honest, he was never going to come out and say “guys, I f-ed up sanctioning some of those signings”, but he should have been upfront with Lopetegui and Hobbs at the start of the summer about the situation.

I do still think we’ll sign Scott and Elvedi because every summer is the same: we’re not going to spend a penny, FFP, and then we sign Nunes for £40m or Cunha for £25m.

In general terms, I'm not against a "youth" policy if you like. It's just the dishonesty about FFP. I saw the post on Instagram first over 6 images and thought it was him about to resign, but it's just a waffle which I am surprised got released like that by a comms expert. It doesn't achieve anything, unless they are trying to lowball Bournemouth.

I do wonder if the way the Saudi league is going, you may find UEFA decide to drop this measure in due course to enable European leagues to compete with that market, or similar. It's already a weird set of rules that the big clubs use to solidify their positions, it's not exactly doing what it intended to do (feel free to correct me).

Think the only way to stop those Saudi clubs is for FIFA/Uefa to put some kind of salary cap in place.

On top of all that has already been said, his letter is full of grammatical errors too. Couldn’t somebody at least proof read the fucking thing first??

How he hasn’t been binned after:
-Guedes
-Cutrone
-loaning Adama for free whilst he runs down his contract
-Semedo/ Nunes/ Cunha

Xi Jinping wouldn’t put up with this bullshit. Jeff needs Qin Gang’ing good style

I know this sounds cliched, but with the news out today there is now a real need to get behind the lads we have, and make Molineux toxic for visiting teams.

Gotta get to this at a point, doesn't it?

I wish it was easier to will a struggling player on rather than get livid at them (this isn't directed at anyone; I'm very guilty of it; see my comments re: Podence and Nathan Byrne).

Maybe I'm just too easy to sell on the "one pack" thing.

I really don't give a flying fuck what cunts on here think. I am a 60 year old Wolves fan.

The racists gammon etc really don't bother me in the slightest.

I don't need a bunch of internet warriors as friends I have plenty thank you
It's just that you don't seem to say anything... Some people come on here with the odd bit of info which can end up right or wrong. But they don't just tease us with nothing which you seem to. Or say/act like you knew something all along. Just being honest without being an internet warrior chicken-shit cunt bastard.
